OpenGeofiction
I’ve just updated to the latest JOSM version (my old one was really outdated) and it gives the option to connect to the OGF servers with OAuth. This seems like a better option, since it doesn’t transmit your password in plain text.
However, when I click the “authorize now” button, in order to get an access token, JOSM throws an error: “The automatic process for retrieving an OAuth access token has failed.”
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks! I’ll try that. Isn’t basic authentication rather insecure though, since it transmits your password without any encryption?

Indeed it is rather insecure. I don’t think OGF (a rather tiny operation by internet standards, with zero paid employees) has any control over the design of the OSM toolset, however. We use it “as is”.

Yeah, I didn’t get this to work either so I just disabled OAuth altogether.
