Odrava
As you may have noticed, my country Drabantia has undergone some serious changes during the past month. Perhaps one of the biggest changes was that the country now has a completely different, new capital city, Odrava.
And while I am really happy with how the city looks so far, it also caused some trouble. Especially for international businesses and airlines that used to serve the old capital, Drahns. However I removed most of the wiki references and stuff, so at this moment, this should be only Litvanka Airlines. I’m sorry for causing trouble.
Speaking of airlines, you’re more than welcome to list Odrava as a destination for your airline company. The most exciting thing is that the city is not on the tip of a peninsula like the previous one was.
Also, siblings are always fun! (I’m an only child.) By which I mean sibling cities are also sought after! Most preferably Ulethan cities, but others too, I don’t discriminate.
I updated the wiki page for Drabantia and Odrava, so you can check them if you wanted to get to know more. I also now have a weekly bliki, where I post even more backstories and thoughts.
PS: Is there anyone who wouldn’t mind helping me with drawing the airport in Odrava? I guess I could do it myself, but it definitely wouldn’t come out as amazingly amazing as some airports by other users.
Drahns: A Yard Sale
…the failure of a city is now broken into pieces, drowning somewhere in a lake.
I didn’t have a very hard time letting go. However I still think at least some parts of Drahns were quality mapping- that’s why I didn’t delete them yet. I was thinking maybe there is a collaborative country the bits could be moved into? They’re very European-looking, so it should probably be Uletha.
So, if anyone is interested in any of the stuff shown here, just leave a comment.
And lastly, thanks everyone for sticking around- some of the things I did earlier were really stupid. I’m sorry about it.

Remember Eklas, we’ve discussed a lot of stuff for Drabantia-Verdese relations. I’ve already fixed the JEV page for routes to Odrava :P Remember, we’ve also traded embassies. I can’t remember however if we’ve discussed Happy Grill coming to a few places in Odrava. Do you want to go back to talks in private messages?
We have been trading DAT in Tierajas-Verdes, so maybe it’d make sense for the DAT Horosedly Plant to move to become the Southern-Ulethan plant in Tierajas-Verdes. I have the perfect place for it.

I can add one of my cities as a Sibling for Odrava, but do you prefer Siemianowice Szlůnskie (360k citizens) or Ligota (730k citizens)? These are most fitting with size.

I can help with the airport, i drew the old ones in Loravia, however they are gone. I have been following your progress all month (as you may have noticed), and i am impressed! Looking forward to a complete Odrava!

I can take Stare Drahny and Billa Louka, they can fit into Demirhanli Devleti, also I’m interested in a part with Narodni muzeum. But if someone else (especially someone, who contributed to Drabantia) wants it, I think he should take it.

Why dont you use that nice stuff in some suburb of Odrava or another town in Drabantia??
I just will not ask to use that because my countries are not “ulethan-style”… but are very very good things there! hehe

Well I am glad there’s so many people interested. But I would rather see the parts of Drahns go to countries, whose owners have mapped something significant already. And please take no offence, but for example Belgravia fulfills that much more than Demirhanli Devleti or Loravia.
@Litvania Thanks for the offer, but I think you should focus on your own country right now.
@Rustem Pasha But would ‘European’ Drahns fit well with the ‘Turkish’ style of your country?

I’ve fixed the references in my airport and airline pages. I think you’re doing a terrific job with your new capital. Happy for Dunwic to be a sibling city, it would be the first!

@Eklas When I was in Istanbul last year I couldn’t find much differences between Istanbul old town and that from for egzample Belgrade, even houses were very similar (many of them were built using timber framing techniqu). The same buildings you can find in terrains formerly belonging to Prussia in northern Poland. Its quite hard to find the difference, maybe becouse many architects working for Ottomans in the first years of the empire were Hungarians. Also due to heavy fires in Istanbul hundreds years ago its hard to find old buildings, so many of them were rebuilt in european neobaroque style in XIX century, So, wherever you see, turkish architecture is european architecture, the only thing to fix is names, which is not problematic, becouse I’m Slavic and I can easily translate drabantian names into english and then to turkish.
I write about that, becouse I see this parts of town as an old town of Ardesehir, the former capital of my country. But if you don’t want me to use it (becouse you don’t like my mapping style or you think my country is porely developed or something else), just say it, I will not feel offended, becouse I find my work much worse than that made by some other people here.

@Rustem Pasha - well I didn’t necessarily mean architecture, I just think the street layout of most Turkish cities looks very different from the Central (forgot to write that word) European ones. However Bílá Louka (Whitefield) in my opinion is an universal, interchangeable suburb, so it’s yours. Feel free to move it to your country (you may have to rescale it afterwards though.)

Hey, Eklas, nice to see the changes! When I moved the capital city of Neo Delta from Delta City to Malojdeh I wasn’t so strong as to let Delta City go… Now I still don’t like that city and I’m not sure on how to make it better without destroying most of it. Maybe that’s the best way to go about it!
I’d love to have Nulta Mile or Stare Drahny to build a city around Ezajun or close to Enkantta, Neo Delta is a pretty multicultural country, so I think it would fit. What do you think?

@deltanz Well, I’m usually very impulsive in my decisions and often do stuff first, then think. Maybe one day I’ll regret the choice, but so far nothing hurts.
Staré Drahany and Nultá Míle are all yours. I’m glad they’re moving to Neo Delta, because I like your country and think they will fit well. I will also help you with translations.
@Litvania I’m sorry for not letting you have Nultá Míle, but I seriously think that you should figure out your country at first. I can help you with drawing your own dystopian suburbs one day, if you want.

Do you think there was ever a moment in the history of Drabantia when a large number of people emigrated to other countries? I think that, if that ever happened, Staré Drahany and Nultá Míle could be two towns founded by Drabantian immigrants in Neo Delta and that way we could have a minimum amount of translation for the names of the places. But of course, some places like the Senát and the ministries will have to change their function.

Maybe it could be around the first half of the 19th century? Is that okay? Either way some names will have to change. ‘Staré Drahany’ for example means ‘Old Drahany,’ which just wouldn’t work out. By the way, Nultá Míle is not a historic town at all, it’s a 1950-1970 suburb.

Hello! I would like to congratulate you on the great work you are doing with the new capital of Drabantia. I especially like the walled area, I think it is much more realistic than the fortified areas that I have. As BMSOUZA says you should use this material in other personal projects, but if you want to get rid of it, I would be interested in getting this plant for some industrial infrastructures in Port Elisabeth and several churches for worship in the center of the city.
