City across the border from Ambiskus City, Anyone interested in building it with me?

Posted by miles854 on 3 March 2018 in English (English)

I was previously working on a small town along the highway that connects to two cities on either end of it, called Galentia, closest to the city of Celemberra in Commonia. Galentia was designed and built around a service area where people could stop along the highway, with little built for people to live there. I wanted to build something bigger, but didn't want to mess up the idea of my town being built to be more of a service area town by making it into a city. I have little experience in making cities, and have only started working on my first town I spent a lot of time building just a few weeks ago. Also I just started using OGF in mid January. In Commonia there is a coastal city called Ambiskus City that stops at the country border near it in the direction of south, but has lots of room within the same country to grow in the direction of east. I was thinking of building a city across the border from it, just like how San Diego, California, USA and Tijuana, Mexico are next to each other on either side of the USA/Mexico Border. Anyone interested in starting a city with me there?

Location: Carrer Ribera d'ebre, Gantely citty, Grand Gantley, Commonia

I Don't know, my design philosophy is weird and very off from what you want, and i don't want to mess up other people's mapping.

I can help if you want, but you'll need to pay the plane so i can fly from West Commonia all the way over there :)

What I want you to do, is help build the city. This is really a bit of a collaboration. I do have some ideas for the city, but your welcome to add in your own ideas and build your own things in certain areas, just as long as the city is similar throughout, e.g if the city is inspired by New York City then don't add a ton of Chinese architecture, or if the city is centered around a downtown street as Las Vegas is with the strip then don't make a whole seperate downtown or make the city be centered around a different area. I am starting work on the city, and will outline it, note where downtown is and put in some basic public transit. You can make adjustments to make it more realistic, add in roads and add in houses/apartments and shops. I want this city to be fairly realistic to real cities.

Nick Rod, I have set up the city borders, that you can edit to make more realistic if neccessary and make larger as the city grows as neccessary. I have also put a general area where the downtown will be, and a few main roads to the city. I already have most of the city's design mapped, you will just be adding stores, roads and apartments/houses to the city, so you wouldn't be messing up the design when doing those things. Wanna help?

I also want to let everyone who's gonna help build the city know that the idea for the layout of it that I had in mind was something like New York City where there is one street that goes through the middle of it with a road and a pedestrian/foot traffic ony road next to it. The rest of the city would be set up pretty much like a grid. The grid doesn't have to be perfect, and some things may need more land then others, and won't fit in the grid if each land space is the same exact size.

@miles854,

Since Ambiskus City is located in Commonia, I might make a short trip from "noisy" Monmouth to your new city and see what I can do to help develop the city.

One thing you can definitely start improving on is naming the smaller streets so when we map our buildings in the city we know what to call and refer the areas/buildings in the future.

I'll start adding some streets to the city soon, but your all welcome to add your own streets as well, just as long as you keep it in the sort of grid design I had in mind for the cities layout. If you add any streets and you need me to name them, you can let me know and I'll be happy to do so.

Whoever is going to help build the city and add to it, feel free to start adding buildings, streets and editing the citys borders, rail, streets and buildings that are already built in the city.
