This is the correct link of what TheMapper27 made.
But I just want to say that this challenge is meant for serious creations and not things like that. Please, don’t waste your time by creating these things and just do quality mapping.

Well, I find this challenge slightly meaningless as I have some bus stops and depots and stations. However, maybe I will add more bus stops, or maybe something meaningful.

I think Weekly Word is a good idea, but the words niels20020 chooses are almost ridiculous, like last week’s word ‘Candy’. I’d definitely try to participate in this contest if the words were something like Abandoned, Public Garden, Old Town, Old & New, Monastery, Islam, Airport, Royal Palace, Small Town, Beach Resort, Ski Resort, Hiking, Ruins, Motorway Junction, Train Station, Poor Neighborhood, National Park, Volcanism, etc… Also it shouldn’t be a weekly challenge, it should be monthly, so that everyone has enough time to make a submission. There should also be votes and the winner’s work should be presented in the user diaries.
Whoa, I think I’m actually going to start such a challenge some day…

Thank you for your feedback stjur. I kind of agree with what you say, but my intention for this challenge was to choose random words, so that you really have to think out of the box to make a creation (though I have to admit that that was not really the case for this week).
It could be monthly, but I like to post a new one every week. Maybe I could post one every week, but also mention the four previous words (so that you can still work on it). It is also an advantage, because if you don’t like the word you only have to wait one week for a new one :)
I don’t understand why we should vote for the best creation, the other challenges don’t have that as well.

I first thought it was a challenge where mappers had to think, I initially wanted to take part in your challenge, I actually thought about what I wanted to map: LOVE - A romantic restaurant with panoramic view over a city; AIR - an aerodynamic building, something like this or this; CANDY - I thought about building an entire town specified for making chocolate pralines.
But BUS? As you said, you can’t really think outside the box on this subject (TheMapper27 did actually, I would have never came up with this kind of “street art” xD)
Btw If you don’t like to wait, you’ll never get any quality work. I am working on a city since one year now and it’s not even halfway finished… And it looks horrible… Nevermind
I still like my words much more though, because they make mappers think more realistically about their mapping. For example if the word was Monastery, I would put some images of real world monasteries as inspiration on the challenge page. Voting and winning is quite important, because it would make mappers try to make the most complex and realistic work. Right now, everyone is just trying to draw something really simple and fast, so they have something to submit. But if you look through the mapping, they have hardly anything to do with culture, and culture forms a national identity. Not many countries have a clearly defined identity and I think a mapping contest should make mappers be more original.

Perhaps Niels can pick a “winner” — and then that person’s “prize” would be to announce the next word (and pick the next “winner,” etc). That way different people could take turns choosing a word.
Also, the entry by TheMapper27 has been removed, as it was in violation of site rules. To give an example of what a more realistic giant “BUS” might look like, I have added one in Mecyna. Happy mapping…

Maybe, a good thing to this weekly challenge would be detailed bus depot or terminals. I am always looking for creating the most detailed ones as possible (because I love buses, hehehe). But I can not do any comparation between my buses depots/terminals/routes/etc and the Isleño creation, hahaha
