Hello everyone, nice to meet you guys, I haven’t talked a lot here even I’ve been active for several months right now.
I want to ask some advice from you guys about one of my first city called Puerto Esperanza, a riverside town that used to be a big industrial city but decaying because the industries went bankrupt. But the government want to make it as a tourist city.
So, what I want to ask: 1. Does the layout is enough for a city for 3mil population? 2. Does Puerto Esperanza need any mass transport beside bus? 3. Is there anything in particular such as infrastructure etc that needed to sustain the city to be tourist city?
The city economy itself resemblant from mid economy cities like Penang, Malaysia, and Cartagena, Colombia. I hope you guys get what I mean, any advice would be very good for me, and Thank you! :)

I’m new here and I barely know how to use any of the editors, but here’s my advice:
A positive note: I like the way you use the numbered streets, where 1st-15th run east-west and 20th-29th run north-south. It’s logical and creative at the same time. And of course I like that you have Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, and Starr Roads. :-) I’m impressed with the amount of work you put in.

Wow, that’s an impressive first city. To answer all your questions, just look at a real world city with about 3 million people, like Madrid. It isn’t big enough for 3 million but it is appropriate as it is for about 1 million.

The city certainly looks well and has some good details but it looks just a bit too small to me for your ambitions.

*I just realize that! Hahaha, I didn’t think so much about congestion but I think it’s a usual problem in an old city that grows unplanned. For that problem, on Trueno Boulevard I added underpass in almost every major street interchange. The economy surely can support it since it got investment to sustain tourism in the city. I think I should expand the suburbs more. Just to tell you that there is some part of the city that’s so dense but 60% of them weren’t living in the skyscrapers. *Yeah! I was thinking subway but I think for the economy like this, subway didn’t really seem possible. Maybe monorail is the cheapest possibility?

@MrOobling: Wow I don’t know that Madrid is populated with 3 million people. In my country, the fourth biggest country was populated with more than 3 million people. I’ll look for how big is Madrid. Thank you for your response!

@Marcello: That is true, I guess I should expand much bigger suburbs for 3 million people. And Penang itself, if I’m not wrong, doesn’t have 3 million people but it’s already bigger than mine. Thank you for your response, Marcello!

By the way when you include three million do you include LaPlace and Rio Cuarto. Rio Cuarto already has 400,000 people and I estimate when it is done it will probably hit a million people but don’t know Demacia’s plans. Also LaPlace also adds another 70,000 now but when finish seems like it would be around 300,000. Just adding those areas in my head an estimate of possibly 1.5 million just on the Demacian side. Your side could have 3 million people which would be a 4.5 million person metropolitan area on both sides.

@Portopolis: I already thought of that actually. The Southwest Wallea will be the crowdest part because of the fertility of the land. Also, the majority of Puerto Esperanza itself is not from the middle-upper class instead they were pretty much middle-lower class. The industrial area in town was bankrupt because it was competing with Rio Cuarto and most of Rio Cuarto and Laplace worker came from Puerto Esperanza. Like in Tijuana-San Diego but Rio Cuarto is much more industrial than San Diego. Okay, maybe I should lower my population into 2 or 1.5 million to make it less crowded and metropolitan? Let me know what you think.

I think 4.5 million is okay, as their aren’t many major metro areas in your region. I would make it that especially if you plan on making the northern part of your country devoid of people.

Great job, neighbor! City looks pretty realistic. I like the part around the stadium and overall your parks look pretty nice.
We shall connect north-east Rio Cuarto and territory to the north-west from Mallice with railroad and make intercty-train. Will there be some other town to the west from Mallice?
I would also say tram is “must have” for city that means to have more than 300 000 citizens, we could make a common tram system for Laplace and Puerto Esperanza. Not sure about metro/subway, unless it’d be like PATH in New Jersey to New York, with few appendixes: Puerto Esperanza is pretty compact, if you let it grow by the bank of Rio Alameda to the north, then it would be definitely worth building subway.
Size of metropolitan area could be around 3 000 000 indeed. Rio Cuarto and Laplace together are around 450 000, Puerto Esperanza looks like ~700 000 city currently. However, take Barcelona as example: osm.org/relation/347950#map=12/41.4039/2.1674
Keeping in mind Barcelona has 1,6 mio people, you can also see that Puerto Esperanza takes like 80% of catalunian capital territory: https://goo.gl/LtWGoU Could be that Puerto Esperanza currently is around 1,2 mio then.
