How do I invite people to OGF without them randomly mapping somewhere?

Posted by plainoldbread on 27 March 2020 in English (English)

I have invited 1 person this month and they've edited randomly even though I told them to edit in the blue nations in OGF: Territories, I want to know how to introduce people to OGF without them vandalizing a country as soon as they join.

Pick smarter friends.

More seriously - this is a long standing issue with OGF in general. How can we make the website more "comprehensible" to newbies? We've been trying to solve that problem for half a decade at least. The FAQ and About pages have a lot of information, but nothing forces newbies to look at them.

I'm sure your friends are great, but if they're the sort of people that don't follow the rules even though they might not know better, then maybe don't invite them to OGF, or be a lot firmer with them. Sorry if I sound harsh, but it's the truth.

To respond to Luciano's 2nd comment, perhaps force newbies to look at the FAQ/About before making an account? I don't know how you would do this, but it would solve the issue, in my opinion.

When I was invited here the person specifically showed me "this is a blue country. map here". Do something like that.
