Strait between San Marcos and Brasonia

Posted by sude on 13 April 2020 in Spanish (EspaƱol)

This strait is full of international ferry lines of more than 10 000km:

In OSM, only regular ferry lines are used (take a look for example to the Strait of Gibraltar):

I want to ask to delete all those shiping lines and keep the shorter ones that connect places in this area, to make it clearer.

I do not think you get new friends, if you delete this shipping-lines. Yes - like Gibraltar this strait is heavy busy. A lot of OGF-user here draw its lines. And to draw such line, it needs some work.

The second is, that there are works in progress, to unitify parallel lines to one "main" shipping line. So please wait, til this work is done.

And third: A plan was, to show this lines only in the histor-style and not in the standard-style. In the standard-style only the "real" ferry-line should be to see. But to do so, there is more changings in the software necessary as only in the style-files. So please be patient.

There is much traffic - and there are many shipping lines on the map - so everything is alright.

Since there are rules here and here and most of the lines respect these rules, I don't see any reason to delete them. If there are some routes breaking the rules, please contact the corresponding user directly.

Why not just leave it as it is, yeah.

In the early days of OGF creating ferry lines and reaching out to other nations to make connections was very popular.

Yes - I remember: The first long shipping line was from Porto Colon to first Port (in this time Khaiwoon was only a white island)
