Hi all,
After going through the OGF Wiki, I got some inspiration and decided to make a “Lonely Planet” like Travel Guide company

Following that, I thought that maybe perhaps we could expand on this and each country if they decide to, could make their own “Sociable Planet” travel guide to his/her country. I think this would be a great idea as it would allow users to express their creativity and vision of their nation to other users.

mstr is right that this is not a new idea (even I started a ‘Karolia travel guide’ way back) but it’s not a bad one by any means. There are all sorts of cultural details that can’t really be shown satisfactorily in a wiki article or on the map and this is a great vehicle for putting them across. And it is, I feel, genuinely relevant to the map - culture and practice inform geography.
Another idea I would like to propose, which would not take up much of your time, is to have standard ‘country factsheets’ all in one place. These would contain essentially the demographic information from wiki articles but would be much easier to compare country to country.

+Sarepava Yes I agree, I believe a country factsheet would work, but I still think having travel guides would be cool as well.

@Sarepava I like the idea of country factsheets, but there were already some like List of Countries by Driving Side. Maybe there should be a Country List that shows

This is great! but since I’m fairly new to OGF, I didn’t know about Mapadvisor. If there’s a travel guide for Sociable Planet, where do you write it?
Anyway, country factsheets would be awesome!

–I forgot to mention, look up Lonely Planet’s The Travel Book. It contains both of factsheet and travel guide. Make it alphabetical or by continental that would be much better.
