Trying to be realistic !

Posted by tparigo on 13 November 2015 in English (English)

I am going on the mapping process of two cites :

Belleville (http://opengeofiction.net/#map=13/-17.5823/20.7416) where i redesigned the southern and eastern district to make it more realistic. The city also has a metro network of 4 lines. When finished it should be a 1 million inhabitants city.

Troie (http://opengeofiction.net/#map=13/-17.8392/21.4234) now has an international airport and a new harbor. I try to keep the topography realistic which is the hardest ! The mapping of the two there cities in the Troie metropolitan area should start soon (Charleville and Sansévérina).

Each city has now its wiki page which i'll try to complete.

Indeed your towns have charme and your railway-structure looks good. Nice to see, what you do.

To your metro: please have a look to [http://opengeofiction.net/wiki/index.php/OGF:Making_realistic_railways] . If you draw both tracks of your metro-lines and the platforms, your system looks much better. And please no too small radius - 50m ot 70 m may be the minimum. (Yes inndeed the old loops in Paris of 1901 are smaller - but this time is gone).

I think it looks very good. Very "old world," however (i.e. European). I'm curious how this is going to work in historical terms. Who built these cities? What was the historical and cultural context?

I like very much the way you created Troie. It is a city I would like to visit if was real, hehehe

They are both beautiful cities! Great job on the topography of Troie too, it is very hard to get mountains right but it looks like you pulled it off very well! Nice job
