Hello fellow mappers, Whilst being in the very first steps of planning a (rail-) Trip across europe I had an idea. For those not familiar,an Interrail pass is a railpass bought mostly by Young people which enables them to travel by train all over Europe for cheap. Youre standing at the Station and See a train that goes somewhere you like. You fill in the station you are currently at, the one you are headed to and Just get on the train. The ogf-world seems to be working together slightly better than the real one, so why not introduce the Worldtravel-Pass (better name TBA?), which would enable the buyer to travel by rail and ferry all over the world instead of only one continent. There will still be cheaper versions of this only valid for one continent/Region or the more expensive one for the whole world. This could run under the World Tourism Organisation I assume. Now, realistically, Not every country can participate or wants to. But even nations which don’t focus much on rail travel (my own included) or small island nations can offer Discounts for local bus/ferry etc. Services aswell as 10% discounts in hostels. Does this Sound too optimistic? Could be implemented in the wiki article as a table where you add your country and tick off the Services offered (Rail/Ferry/Urban transport/hostel & Museum discounts) using the Red/yellow/green symbols known from other articles. I have been thinking recently about the Grand Lake area in Gobrassanya, and i have been especially thinking of Grand Lake as an Ingerish-speaking City, and Quesagnais as a Franquese-speaking city.

Today, i spotted some streets in Quesagnais that had Ingerish names.

Should i replace those names with Franquese ones?

There have been edits in Vinnmark from adminero_us’s account, but they have caused flooding. Looking in JOSM, the coastline has been substantially altered on top of existing mapping. Is it possible that adminero_us’s account is compromised?

I was wondering if there is any collection of good examples of highly detailed mapping?

• there’s the FeaturedMap on the main page for larger areas of detailed mapping
• one knows some very detailed locations in OGF like Gobras City, Dunwic, Mynninghamn, Barra da Grama, Khaiwoon …
• what I miss is a collection of links to single “objects”, where you can look-up how to map something, or a list where you can get some inspiration which kind of objects can be mapped to complete a city

So I’ve started a list to collect all of the great places. I will fill the list within the next months. If you know other nice places don’t hesitate to nominate them.

What do you think, is such a list helpful? Do we need more/other categories?

I am really bored so i’m gonna make an ogf travel journal. So I might be doing blue nations first. My location is my starting point

I was looking around and it seems that there may be little emphasis on municipal boundaries on OGF. Is this due to the constant nature of being incomplete or is just lack of interest? Is local government something that is not part of OGF?

I have mapped a few with the intent on altering the boundaries as the community expands or even contracts. I have taken in several factors and they have all presented their own character as to the boundaries have been drawn. Some were mapped with my entry level skill growing to a more novice level.

One example in taking in several factors to boundaries lies with the Town of Lakesite Villages. The town name was even factored into this one. I will give an example of how the boundaries which itself is a work in progress and will change as I look at which parcels should not be within the boundaries of the town.

The town was formed as sort of a resistance to forced annexation from the City of Belleville. Belleville came across the Grand Lake shores and onto land on the opposite side of the lake annexing a parcel of land into the city on Farwood Road. The residents of the then unincorporated areas decided to take action and form a municipality of their own to stop the expansion of the Belleville city limits and it’s high tax burdens. The name could not be agreed upon as each lake finger had a subdivision or community name of it’s own. Since there was no consensus as to which name to take they agreed upon Lakesite Villages. The name coming from the number of lake site homes and the amalgamation of the various communities or “villages” though not actual villages as incorporated communities.

I’m at a loss as to what got messed up this time. Can someone look into it?

There is just too much space for one person to add residential zoning to. I’m talking a lot of space. so here is the jist, Anyone in the Commonia Area that is editing near New Commonia in the Upper Thoraqua/ Lower Thoraqua area and has nothing to edit … well I got something for you. I am creating a town “Freetabourgh” at the end of the C12 corridor right after The I-85 exit. This town consists of alot of city space for houses, and other city services. Please feel free to add anything you want, anywhere you want, but please do not cross the border. I am asking this because I am about to go on a holiday to West Virginia, and I will need as much help as possible. I do not want to have to completely do the whole thing a couple days behind where the town should be done… Thank you in advance! P.S NOTHING INNAPORPIATE

Uh oh

I just don’t know what it is, but I suck at sizing stuff, properly. When I look at this area, it just feels off. I tried several methods described here, but I just feel lost.

So, if someone could show me how they would resize it to something more… realistic? That would be awesome and I’d appreciate it.

I am also thinking about opening this nation up to others aswell, so we can map a Dutch/Germanic/Anglo nation together?

Perkins Point, a small plot of land with unusually-sized houses, all surrounded by a seawall that even continues onto the land! It has a futuristic type of airport with circular runways, actually researched by the BBC. It is followed by the Greater Perkins Point Area (GPPA) that hosts an [OK] industrial sector by CorpalBrandon and an unfinished Suburbian community. It has a canal for ships and three separate forests (Beatland, Abedies, Point Forests), one with campgrounds. The city is situated near the Drew River Delta NR, a beautiful area, and there is easy access there through Galvin Rd. The city is easily accessible through the N5, Coastal Rd., and Galvin Rd. There are some security bases on the outer islands to ‘Protect’ the area.
