I really want to know how is terrorism in OGF and who causes it.

I can not find my town on view, and on history it is not showing up?!! Why si this stuff so freaking hard to do?!! Please someone just tell me something useful and none of those wiki links! I just need to know why this is happening?! I added a town in midstland and it doesn’t show up

I really need help! I don’t know how to make official cities, towns, and villages, or making borders! Like a state or region? Or territory? Please! My mind is blank in this!

I know the new forum is opened and it’s preferred messages are posted there, but I wouldn’t know where to put this problem (the closest thing I found was ‘Collaboration > Technical problems and solutions’ which seems to be for the problems with OGF). So I thought I’d put it here in the User Diaries.

Today I was editing and detailing central Chorley, with a lot of new things I wanted to bring to the map. But when I tried to upload it as a changeset, it gave me the constant error that it could not upload the file due to certain problems with another relation. After a few tries I decided to save the file and restart JOSM. Then I tried to re-open the file I just saved, but now it won’t even let me open it and gives me the error

“Relation with external id ‘‘74.461’’ refers to a missing primitive with external id ‘‘74.455’’

Both relations to places in the Ardisphere that I visited earlier today (which looks amazing btw) when looking at Mstr’s Featured Objects page (which also is amazing) for inspiration for my rivers.

Now I’m stuck with this annoying error. I really want to upload this file so I can go back to mapping the rest of the town with the proper layout, instead of guessing where everything is.

Another strange thing I noticed was when I opened JOSM after many attempts and a few hours and dismissed the error, and went in the menu to the list of active changesets, I saw this changeset by me still unclosed, so I closed it, but it is empty, as can be seen.

I’m really distraught at the moment, I don’t know what to do with it. I searched the web for help in documentations and forums, but neither of them were helpful to me. I don’t want to lose such a large part of the progress I made today. Is there a way I can still upload this .osm file I have on my computer? Does anyone know how to solve this? 😪

So here’s a second call. Just apply for your favourite plot and give a theme for your nation’s pavillon (see link to first call above for details).

Also, I’m looking for a designer of the overall exposition ground concept. If you want to apply, just send me a private message and link to a comparable area (exposition/fair ground etc.) that you have developed in OGF. Looking forward to receive your applications! If I get interesting applications by then, I will choose the EXPOMONDIALE 2018 masterplan designer before Christmas.

I am new. I can’t edit because it says “zoom in to edit”{ I keep on zooming in with the + button but it still won’t let me edit

iD editor keeps putting it into a bright setting. Can someone help me get it back to what it was before?

I noticed that new user imazzz has been making edits (http://opengeofiction.net/user/imazzz/history) in territories that do not belong to him. I have pointed this out to him. Can anyone reverse this “vandalism”, or does the owner of the relevant country have to do it.

Through my time working on the town of Plowford (Though recently more erratic), I’ve happened to have developed a sort of transect from the town centre, going outwards to its edges. I’m on its very latest stages now, on the rural-urban fringe (for my more rural mapping, look to the east). This is pretty much a summary of what the rest of my mapping in Plowford will look like for the foreseeable future. This is the stage I ask, while I still can, what there is to improve.

It’s been a while since I posted on here. I decided to basically wipe everything in my territory and start over again. There are a lot of things that need to be addressed, and I would definitely appreciate any feedback regarding my capital, Bashkim and its immediate surroundings.

I’m Jumbooo, and I’ve started mapping some 5 days ago. I’ve started a city with a population of about 120.000. It’s called Dominton, and it’s on the west coast of country Margarath, Midistland. I’d like to receive a feedback from more experienced users. Of course my work is far from being finished, but I’d like to know how you think it’s going.

A small update from Řots (Southern Archanta) and Wyster (Eastern Uletha). In the last couple of weeks I have been mainly preoccupied with both countries’ capitals; before that, I worked on an altitude map of Řots.

In Wyster’s capital Hreawirc I just worked on creating streets and stuff; in and around Nekkar I focused on the satellite town of Bastet, southeast of the capital, and today I started working on Nekkar’s subway system.

For now, there are a Red Line (Airport-Sikē Va-Kervirep) and a Blue Line (Osente-Main Railway Station-Bastet, which will eventually be extended to the new airport that will be constructed southeast of the city; I should probably put that part of the line ‘under construction’ for the time being). The two lines cross at Sureekkar station.

The Red Line makes a huge detour near the airport, which is probably due to either protesting land owners who didn’t want subway constructions going through their fields, or a city council with too much money and/or wrong priorities, or both. The exact moment that this line was constructed will decide whether its construction was a waste of money or not: if it was constructed many decades ago, it may have been sufficiently useful to get to and from the airport. If it was constructed in the last ten or twenty years, it will turn out to be less useful, as recently the decision was taken to construct the aforementioned new airport, which, once completed, will significantly reduce the number of passengers on that part of the Red Line.

A third line (that I haven’t mapped yet) will probably go from Sikē Va via the Main Railway Station eastwards, via Karkar to Korp.

I’ve had this problem recently, and it may be relevant to some of the newer users around here, so:

What system of road naming is consistent?

I thought of this one system for Litvania in April, where primary roads are S[number], secondary D[number], and tertiary are just numbers.

But where do these start? How do i keep it consistent?

I ask for suggestions and maybe new proposals, everything is welcome. Unnamed roads are boring.

Hi everyone i started planning some topography and i started planning the states (already drawed in my notebook) anyways… how can i create states?

I would really appreciate some feedback on the airport I’m trying to detail (found here). I’m trying to figure out if I am missing any vital airport buildings, details, etc. ANY FEEDBACK IS APPRECIATED!!!! I hope this signifies my turning over a new leaf in my mapping adventures as I draw towards more and more detail.

Kurzov’s use of cancelled:()=yes

I use the key-value combination cancelled:()=yes (alternatively, I also use highway=cancelled and cancelled=()) for roads or other features that were planned but never built due to environmental petition, community action, lack of funding, etc, etc…

For example, the Sakatia Ring Road (also referred to as the SRR, pronounced ‘serr’) in Sakatia, Levarrie was planned to be a full trunk road all the way around the Sakatia metro area, but was either never envisioned or cancelled before the road’s building, leaving Sakatians with a non-grade separated but divided highway through the south side of the downtown area, and a grade-separated partial bypass on the rest of the Ring Road.

For the cancelled “Colosseum Extension” of the SRR, I used the tags,

• highway=cancelled
• cancelled=trunk
• cancelled:name=Sakatia Ring Road
• start_date=1994
• end_date=1997

Please tell me what you think. Or something like that. I dunno.

Hi!

I don’t usually post articles on the diary, but today I need to know your opinion.

I started mapping the new capital of Amsel yesterday, for now I like pretty much what I did at the center of the city, but I don’t know how to continue its development at the suburbs…

Moreover the area of the north of the city (near the university) doesn’t please me :( I think that it contrasts a lot with the rest of the city : it is too much circular for my taste, unlike the City center, even if it is meant to be a quite recent suburb (built in the 1980-1990).

What are your thoughts ? I hope you can give me some advice because I’m a little lost at the moment.
