Ground has been broken for a brand new motorway, MW 40. MW 40 will be built as the Veterans memorial turnpike and will be entirely tolled except for portions within Oxford, Winchester, and Foxworth. The propasal was quickily approved as the priority had been quickily and quietly raised to high. Many citizens had complained because there had only been 3 primary east-west motorways, the motorway has gained support for almost all areas except for in the city of Oxford where Oxford states that there is a massive hill unreachable by a motorway under normal conditions and that a massive downhill viaduct would be an eyesore and that a tunnel would be dangerous, incovient, and cost-prohibitive. Oxford says they want MW 40 to bypass Oxford while the Farax Ministry of Transport wants MW 40 to go straight through the city limits as a free of toll section of MW 40. Foxworth has complained as well due to the Great Susky forest within the path of MW 40 as well as refusing to build MW 40 within the PR 404 loop. Foxworth politicians want MW 40 to end at the PR 404 loop instead of continuing through the Great Susky forest to the Farax/TA021 border. The controversey of MW 40 will continue for a great while.

DANVILLE- PR 88 widening has been completed on the entire stretch between the Danville beltway and the southern end of the existing widening except on the Martins Ferry bridge. Proposals have been made to build a new cable stayed span to supplement the two lane existing truss span of the Martins Ferry bridge. The old alingment has been relabeled as SR 148 and is still usable.

FORZA- MW 10 has its SEP improvements completed. Travelers will now find more rest areas and multiple runaway truck ramps. MW 5 will have its SEP improvements done soon

FORZA- Due to increased traffic on PR 8 along the Forza River proposals have been made to build a motorway along PR 8 to relieve traffic as well as give a safer route for traffic. The new motorway is planned to utilize the existing roadways of the entirety of the 8th street expressway, Owenton way, and Owenton parkway, it will bypass all places and will be mostly 2 lanes in each direction with it increases to 4 lanes in each direction inside the Forza beltway.

FORZA- The un-built southern portion of the Forza beltway has been a high-priority project for a long time, it has gained more support despite the enviremental concerns because it passes through forests. Supporters say that it will relieve traffic on MW 5 and MW 105 in the downtown area. Protesters say that it will destroy the Henderson forest and split the New Haven park in half.

WATERLOO- Proposals have been made to widen the Waterloo urban belt so that it is 3 lanes in each direction instead of it mostly being 2 lanes in each direction. It will relieve traffic on the heavily used urban belt.

DANVILLE- Danville has started construction on widening PR 88 from the Danville beltway to the southern end of the existing widening just north of the Martins Ferry bridge. It will improve safety, better connect Scottsville to motorways, as well as sucessfully meet future traffic estimates.

FORZA- The capital has approved the Service Expansion Program (SEP) which will establish more rest stops on Farax’s motorway system. It will also build more runaway truck ramps as well as better warn about road conditions. It will expand Farax’s EDI VMS system to better warn about conditions on roadways.

The Kingdom of Qugia has officially taken over most of the land which former was known as Ptolomy. Qugia decided to annex Ptolomy because of the total political collapse in the country. It was an easy task for the Qugian Army, because it seemed like Ptolomyans wanted to join the Kingdom. They didn’t fight against the Qugian Army. Ptolomy will now go threw a reformation which will make them more qugian. Name of places will be changed to qugian names. The world has now seen the real power of the kingdom.

A small part of Ptolomy managed to stand up against Qugia. The area lays in the north, and mainly consists of a modernised native tribe. Qugia did not found any interests in the area, and therefore they didn’t even try to fight against it.

Due to the Vienna’s declaration of independence, Drevet was left with 10 KM of redundant motorway. Nottingham Transport Syndicate has decided to abandon the redundant stretch, take it up, and seed the area for forest. The MW 62 motorway west of MW 66 will be superceded by the SR 962 highway, linking into Vienna’s SR 62.

Subsequently, work will commence on MW 66 to link currently disjointed sections, and modernise the existing ones, with the eventual goal of extending the motorway to New Roanoke. Dependent on settlement patterns in Drevet’s Far East and consultations with the Drevet transport authorities, further projects may be necessary.

The International Foosball World Cup is a biannual tournament that takes place in Quentinsburgh, Freedemia.

QUENTINSBURGH- It’s official. QUARTA has officially finished construction of express tracks on subway lines 1, 4, and 7. Express service will begin running on Wednesday, May 6th. Passengers should make sure they check the screen at the front of the train. If there is an X after the number, ex. (1)x, the train is running express and will skip many local stops. This is the first service of it’s kind in the QUARTA system, as routes were built with local capacity only.

This new service should greatly help if Quentinsburgh wins the 2016 Geolympiad bid, especially on Line 4. There are more venues on line 4 than on any other metro line in the city. The express service should make it possible to nearly double capacity on line 4, reducing overcrowding.

Lines 1 and 7 have also officially switched paths south of Freeman Rd/Mark St. Line 1 now runs to Quentins Point Beach, while line 7 now runs to Sean Bond International Airport and Geolympiad Village. This service also begins on Wednesday.

MW 73 has been completed to Sierra Blanca.

MW 573 has been extended so that it loops around to MW 73, bypassing Visby and Nanets. It has been renamed MW 673 to agree with numbering rules.

A new portion of MW 73 has been constructed. MW 73 now bypasses Nanets and runs west of Boundary Line and Elmige. The portion of MW 73 that runs directly into Laguardia Junction and Visby has been renamed MW 573. Future plans call for SR 22 to be rerouted along MW 73 to Sierra Blanca, where MW 73 will replace MW 762. MW 73 will then end at MW 62, but more plans may be made to extend MW 73 to either India or Melbourne. Comment on this entry if you disagree with this plan.

QUENTINSBURGH- The long awaited 1 train extention to the Sean Bond International Airport Rental Car center, Hotel Vilage Area and the proposed Geolympiad Village has finally been completed. This gives the Geolympiad village area a direct link to downtown Quentinsburgh via QUARTA’s QLine Metro System.

Said route should greatly help if Quentinsburgh wins the Geolympiad bid.

Ironically, however, in the long run the stations will not be serviced by line 1, but by line 7.

The 1 line is the longest subway line in the QLine system. It’s also the most crowded. For several years, QUARTA has looked at two main improvements to combat the issue:

*New Express Service on Line 1 (first express service of its kind in Quentinsburgh’s history)

*Switching lines 1 and 7 south of Quentinsburgh Union Station.

In light of the Geolympiad bid, QUARTA plans to finish the express service on Line 1 (and possibly lines 4 and 7) by July 2015. The switching lines idea is going to be tested during the Geolympiad if Quentinsburgh wins the bid. If it goes well, the change will be made permanent and Line 7 will loop back out towards the airport and line 1 will end at Quentins Point Beach.

This comes around the same time as many great improvements to neighboring Sean Bond International Airport. The construction of Hotel Village Square added over 1000 hotel rooms near the airport, and the construction of the new East wing of Terminal A, the West wing of Terminal B, and new Terminal D for charter-style flights have nearly doubled Sean Bond International’s capacity. (Terminal-wise only. The airport still has the same number of runways.) SBD can now support more international FreedemiAir flights, as well as many more airlines flying internationally to Quentinsburgh.

Terminal D would be especially helpful for athletes flying in as a country on private flights. They would fly in through Terminal D and get bused to either Geolympiad Village or the actual venues.

TWO CITIES, ONE GEOLYMPIAD

REBACK & ST. JOHN’S CITY- The competition for the 2016 Geolympiad is underway and currently 6 cities are in the race to become the host city for the premier athletic exposition, including two Dreveti cities. Reback and St. John’s City entered into the bid just days between each other. So, which city should get the honor? The Drevet Daily News weighs in the Pros and Cons:

On March 30th, 2015, the Quentinsburgh Geolympiad Bid Committee introduced a new originally designed logo for the bid.

The Quentinsburgh Bid committee wanted a new logo that was original, yet true to the colors and design of the Geolympiad logo. The ring of diamonds represents a ring of unity, representing strength in numbers and teamwork, and the light green background diamond and the light blue background finish the color scheme created when creating Geolympiad Garret, the mascot.

Quentinsburgh, WQTN 13-
Quentinsburgh, Freedemia is currently one of (6? I believe) cities with a bid for the 2016 Summer Geolympiad. So far, things have been going well. The bid luckily came at the same time as many beneficial projects that were already planned, such as extending some QUARTA routes, building new stadiums at area universities, and the building of Hotel Village Square, which will act as Geolympiad Village if Quentinsburgh wins the bid.

A lot of projects are already near completion, such as the complex of stadiums surrounding (and including) Spectrum Geolympiad Stadium, pictured here, the expansion of Sean Bond International Airport pictured here, and the construction of a new stadium near the Quentins State University Campus, pictured here.

As work continues to prepare for the bid, the bid committee is hopeful. “As of now, Quentinsburgh seems to be strong competition for the bid. We believe that we have addressed- or are currently addressing- all of the facets.”

However, the committee knows they are not the only good city running. “There are several great proposals out there that have a good chance. There are lots of other great cities running as well. We just believe we have a competitive bid. We wish all of the other cities the best of luck.”

I developped a new town in southern Egani, and I tried to save the changes, but :

“Version mismatch: Provided 93, server had: 96 of Relation 10071”

How can I do to save the changes if it happens again ? It’s not the first time it, and I don’t really know how to solve the problem.

It wasn’t originally my intention to do this. But a comment that I made to a question on the wiki by user ernestpcosby and subsequent work in response to that comment by user zwinek inspired me to give it a shot.

Zwinek set up a proposal page in the wiki, which I have added to a little bit. Then I crafted a proposal for my city Villa Constitución to host the geolympics. In fact, I’m not worried about “winning” the proposal at this time… I set up the proposal mostly by way of example - I’m sure there are others who can do a great job with this too.

I’m looking forward to seeing lots of proposals!

A little bit of background about my activities in Řots (and Hamabaurgs).

Řots is slowly getting some kind of shape. Especially the mapping part is somewhat new to me; since creating detailed maps of my ficticious countries has never been a priority, I am most comfortable with making them on the national level only (and even then I often leave out roads and rivers). Apart from some unfinished attempts in the past, Nekkar and Hamabaurgs (in West-Commonia) are by far the most developed city maps that I ever designed and seeing some of the other cities here at OGF, there is still a lot to do. Deciding what should be where on walking distance scale, estimating the size of buildings, etc. will therefore prove to be a new challenge – if I ever get to that, because there is a lot more to fill in on the national and provincial levels.

At this moment I’m mostly trying to give the coast a less straight character; after that I will probably work on the national borders of Řots (if that is allowed, as I don’t have neighbours yet with whom I can discuss this..).

My other plans are creating some more people (most notably, there will be a notorious duchess who shall be considered a black sheep in her noble family ‘because’ or ‘and because of that’ she has rejected living according to the rules of the Codex any longer) and publish news articles to add a bit of life to Řots. I have to elaborate the local sport of Rřap and I have to revise the description of the Řotsnan grammar; I discovered that the verb system in practise hasn’t turned out the way I described it.

Too bad that there are only 24 hours in a day…
