RE-EDIT I’m trying to find out which territory to claim. I’m trying to get a desert country with a long coast to sustain some major cities and an inland desert. Ideally it would be a major muslim-analogue nation. Any advice? Also, are there any Islam or Judaism analouges I don’t know about in OGF?

According to this map, the biggest desert regions are in south-western Uletha and in northern Tarephia. I think you should get the territories TA022a or TA022c, or maybe, if you feel confident enough, the bigger territory UL207.
About religions, this problem has been very controversial in OGF’s past. Right now, there are no internationally recognized Islam or Judaism analogues yet.

There are two countries in which muslims are the majority of the population. First is Unesia, which is mainly Arab inspired country (here http://opengeofiction.net/#map=8/-31.637/164.564 ) and second is Demirhanlı Devleti, which is inspired mainly by Ottoman Empire. Both countries are located on South Archanta (Astrasia), so I don’t know claiming territory in Uletha is good idea, but it’s your choice…
The equivalent of islam in OGF is Iman (short Wiki article here: http://wiki.opengeofiction.net/wiki/index.php/Iman ).

Well, if you choose your territory where I told you, you’re going to be right next to the huge OGF-Arabic country of Mazan (UL137), so this location is, on my opinion, more relevant than South Archanta. And the climate near Unesia and Demirhan is temperate, while the territories I recommend you are desert countries.

I think Pasundan-Padjadjaran in southeastern Uletha is also a Muslim-analogue country… if you look you will find some mesjids (mosques) there.

Is Mazan really existing (I mean on the map)? Where do the 390 000 000 inhabitants live? Do they live under stones in the desert?
I’m sorry, I can’t understand why non-existing places play such a key role in OGF… maybe someone can answer me this simple question?

For me Pasundan Padjajaran is analogue of India or other Far East country and I think there is far less mosques than it should be in a muslim dominant country, that’s why I did’nt write about that country.
@Stjur I don’t know if Mazan should be considered as a muslim country, becouse country is reserved, whatever it means (planned for partition? Who knows…) and future owner(s) can have a radically different view about the country. But generally I agree with you. In Archanta most available countries don’t fit to authors conception, so maybe he should find his place in other part of the world.

@Rustem Pasha maybe ask Okiazr, the owner of Pasundan-Padjadjaran, who is from Indonesia, whether it is a Muslim-analogue country.

The administrators have stated that Mazan is reserved as they want to make it the core homeland of Arabic culture and for this, they want an experienced mapper who is fluent in Arabic to map it. If you fullfill these criteria, I am sure the moderator would love to give you this territory (though I am not a moderator so I might be wrong).

Singkangia has also some Muslims in their country but does not play the majority.

I’ve been using the word “Judic” since it seems to be accepted that “Christic” is the word for Christianity in the OGF world.
