To be a little more clear (I was confused by this as well in the beginning) green areas are not free to map in. You may claim them, but they are not mapping territories. I understand that this is a little bit confusing when you’re getting started and then frustrating to sometimes receive several messages saying that you are doing it wrong when you are just getting started.
Instead of getting frustrated, just go and map in a blue area. Nobody will hold it against you as it is a beginner mistake that probably almost everybody has made. For an example of a blue area you might want to edit, you just have to go to Midistland.

Yeah. I made a mistake lol. But since I’m new, like Infrarrojo said, it’s a beginner mistake. Sorry about that. And, zhenkang, usually when I draw maps, it’s easier to draw highways first so that I get a good idea of what i should be making. (Yes I draw maps irl)

Please only edit in blue territories indicated on the Overview Map. You may request a territory from admin after editing in blue territories for 7 days.

Instead of building motorways, why not build a town, or develop on one? There is plenty of space in Midistland and Commonia to do so.
Anyway, building motorways is the first wrong step for newbies. Motorways, in fact, should come second or last.
