Hey guys!
Is there a way to make it so you can make large changes to the map, (making large highways, etc etc.) quickly? I don’t have JOSM, so are there any ways to do it quickly in ID or Potlatch?

If you set your favored mapping tool in the settings to Potlatch 1, you can be zoomed out to (i am almost sure) level 13, which really helps when doing really large roads. To access it once it is favored in your settings, click edit (not the drop down) and you should be there. Make sure to select edit with save. Hope this helps!

Just checked it and it is indeed level 13, 3 levels zoomed out from iD.

Well, I can get it if I wanted to, but I’d have to install a load of things, first of all JOSM itself,a nd then Java, then I have to get used to the program. I might look into it though.

I made the transition a little while ago, though it did take some convincing. After checking out some of the cool features, I was completely changed and did my best to get better at JOSM.
A piece of advice I would give you is to look at each tab and figure out the keybinds for each function, so you can get used to the basic functions quicker.

Another tip is to make use of the plug ins available to josm. Especially the image overlay plug in, pencil plug in, and automatically download plug in. Also note that pressing a twice enables angle snap mode (first a to select the line tool, second a to enable angle snap). You hold control over a way to enable snapping to that way.

Hi guys, it might be a bit late, but, when I try to download JOSM, it says that it can harm my computer. What should I do? Keep it or discard it?

The JOSM application will not harm your computer. It did not harm my computer and did not harm the dozen more OGF mappers using JOSM. So ‘keep it’.

Well, there is a chance it could be from the wrong website. Make sure you downloaded it from here: https://josm.openstreetmap.de/.
