Hello,
I’m having issues setting up county lines in my state, Aperia. My goal is to have the line say “Lee County” on that side of the line. Here are the tags I have set as a relation for every border of the county:
name = Lee County
type = boundary
boundary = administrative
admin_level = 6
place = county
Any help is appreciated!

On the administrative boundary line, try setting the relation as outer. On my lines, I don’t add place=county, and just leave it as admin_level=6.

Your boundaries are untagged, they are only a line without definition. Tag the boundaries as “boundary = administrative” and “admin_level = 6” and in the relation set at each way the role as “outer”, as Trombonist2003 has written.

OKay, the reason why is that all the administrative boundaries surrounding the county need to have the relation. I found at least one that did not meet this requirement.

It turns out that the lines weren’t properly connected. But I followed your advice and it’s working now, thank you!

Histor, the member ways of the relations doesn’t need to be tagged. You only need the following for the relation:
type=boundary boundary=administrative admin_level=? name=?And then put the ways as members with role
outer. No need to put any tag on the ways.
