Please rate my airport!

Hey guys,

so winter break is already over now and now I have time to write a diary entry. I wanted to ask you guys to review/look over/rate my airport, that I build over the winter break and the last days. So I build it in Commonia, because I wanted to start a project, until my requested territory gets approved, but since it didn’t I finished my project in Commonia.

As you can see the airport is pretty big and would be one of the larger ones in the OGF world. I tried to include all amenities, that an airport needs. If you find any missing amenities or buildings, please feel free to comment.

Also some of the industrial areas spread to the north and south of the airport are not finished yet.

Bad time to request a territory.

Nice airport. Given that you’re still quite new, you have exceeded the level of most territory owners!

  • Concourse D and the lobby seems to be too close to each other.
  • 2 tunnels below the airport for (mostly-)internal traffic, both under runways??? I would personally prefer…
    • To remove the west tunnel, have Aviation Boulevard being perpendicular to the highway on the west, OR have it go to the Business Park.
    • Widen the tunnel along the main railway so that vehicle traffic can just cross the terminal aprons instead of runways (which tend to cost more). Also tunnels below terminals ease access for building maintenance. But that’s purely my opinion.
  • It’s not standard to write stars on the hotel, but whatever.
  • Airport Clinic tend not to be outside the terminal.
  • Grass landuse=grass around runway?
  • Maybe you could start adding shops to the terminal? Or interior like GBWX? Definitely not required but it’s a plus.

I think it is mapped really well! It looks great

The terminal and concourse D are about 320m apart. It might be a bit cramped, but there are airports like this in the real world! I think the distance looks small because the airplanes are huge. The widebody planes are each 100m long. For comparison the length of an A340-600 is 75m. Right now I can’t imagine how the big planes are supposed to reach the gate or be pushed back from a gate with so little space.

Also the placement is a bit weird… The neighboring town Chinook already has an “International Airport” (well, with runways that are only 600m long…..). So your airport is a bit out of context at this point, however that’s the case for a lot of places in Commonia.

Wow nice airport. Pity it is in Commonia.

I doubt any further expansion of the city is needed. Hope it will be connected to nearby towns and roads. Or are you planning to move that to your furture territory?

What will your future territory be? Will like to know. Meanwhile, if you want, come to Antigo. It is a collaborative project on a totaliterian state.

That’s a really great airport! austinhuang is right though, it’s a bad time to be seeking a territory. However, you may want to reach out to the collaborators in New Carnaby, FSA – they’re just starting some collaboration on Stanton International Airport, which stylistically looks very similar to yours. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind an extra mapper with your kind of skill set.

@austinhuang; @Picard-Lindelöf: The airport will be moved to my own territory, when it gets accepted so I will not connect anything to the city…

@zhenkang: My territory would probably be a capitalistic state like Germany, France and the Netherlands. I will mix up some of the building styles.

@austinhuang: I will add grass between the runways. The south tunnel will be probably moved. The clinic will be moved too!
