Is it me or is there only one renderer (the standard ‘Mapnik’ -like style) active ? It looks like both Topomap and the ‘Histor style’ renderer are not active.

Yes, I have the same thing. I think it’s to put less weigh on servers or something. I’m not an IT guy. But at least wiki is working again.

Same here. Only Standard and hand-drawn are working, whilst the other two show a world of one big grey ocean.

My guess would be that thilo has removed the layers to reduce the load on the server as a (hopefully) temporary measure.

Correct, they have been disabled.

As much as I like the faster rendering and the availability of the Wiki, it leaves me with one issue: on JOSM I used the Topomap layer as the map from where I did my selection on what / where to download. Now I only see a blank screen. Anyone know how I can set this to OGF/Mapnik standard ?
thanks in andvance

@Marcello - you should be able to change this in the preferences on JOSM (F12), in the submenu Imagery; see also here https://wiki.opengeofiction.net/wiki/index.php/OGF:Frequently_asked_questions#How_can_I_display_the_OpenGeofiction_map_as_background_in_JOSM.3F

Taka,
Thanks for your fast and kind answer, but I may have put my question not specific enough: I have no problems getting the OGF map as background for editing, but when I want to download a region to map, the download dialogue (the box in the upper right of the ‘slippy map’ option) does show me the options to use OGF, but I see nothing (well, red crosses, actually).
I have been saved because I discovered that JOSM does keep the area of the last 15 edits as a bookmark… Now THATs good news. And even copying the URL of the area one wants to work in does work. Hurray for the JOSM developers/sters.
thanks anyway,
Marcello.

In the top right of the bounding box selection screen should be the option to choose which imagery you want to use, it should be the same selection as you can choose from for the editing background - it’s probably still set to the topo map.

You point exactly at the right place - and there is indeed where it hurts. I get there all options I set in the F12 ‘preferences’, but only the OSM one is really working - and that puts me in the middle of the Indian Ocean, not in the Asperic one…
No clue what goes wrong here, most likely a typo somewhere, but with both the ‘bookmarks’ option and the URL insertion available and working to my pleasure I can work, so it’s no more than a minor nuisance.
thanks anyway

So, has the Topomap been taken down? I decided to come back and make some edits.
Comment from Lithium-Ion on 31 March 2021 at 00:21
As admin said, yes, topomap and histor have been disabled.

I see. Thanks.

Is there any chances to restore them back? I like Histor style. It has more details than default one.

To Marcello: Try using remote control JOSM and adding the background afterwards.
