Hi All,
I want to work on a nice looking contour map like https://wiki.opengeofiction.net/wiki/index.php/File:Topographical_map_of_Drabantia.png But I’m not sure if there’s a way to import the outline of my country into Inkscape from JOSM or I should trace it. Does anyone have experience with this?

Tl;Dr: There is an ImportVec plugin, so import it.

@austinhuag thank you but I’m trying to go from JOSM into Inkscape, not from Inkscape into JOSM

I dont think there is the other way round, unless you take snapshots.

I loaded Embla into JOSM - saved as “non uploadable” and deleted neighboring country data.
I changed ALL ways to primary highways and deleted other tags.
I created a “frame” (also a primary highway) - the plugin seems to need this to render properly.
I used the osmarender plugin for JOSM.
This opened an .SVG file in Firefox. File -> Save As to save the svg. This opens in inkscape.
Note you must zoom the image to see anything - the nominal picture size is HUGE.
