OpenGeofiction
Given the fact that I live in Alaska and there seems to be no area similar to it in OGF, this question came to me: is there interest in making an Alaskan-type island in the far southeast of Archanta? The territory would be part of the FSA, and could probably be a collaborative effort that focuses on mapping more natural features over large cities. (Although the Southern Islands seems to have the same objective, it looks to be more of an Antarctic comparison.) Thoughts?

Other prospects can be formwr Konsiat and UL099 in Uletha. Though of course there can be a possible Alaska part of FSA somewhere, like in the Asperic Ocean?

@iiEarth - as described here (https://wiki.opengeofiction.net/wiki/index.php/OGF:Quick_territory_descriptions), Makaska is meant to be Minnesota - roughly. “Makaska” is a Dakota (Native American Language) word meaning “white land” - a reference to all the snow, I think. Likewise “Minnesota” is also a Dakota word, meaning “blue waters” - a reference to all the lakes.
All the “Native” words in Makaska are drawn from the real world Dakota Language, which in OGF I call “Rakhoda.” The fact that “Makaska” sounds like “Alaska” (where I happen to reside, in the real world, now) is coincidence. The name “Alaska” comes from an Aleut Language, and means “Mainland”.

@zhenkang Although that is a good idea, I believe that Konsiat and UL099, based on general locations and the fact that Uletha is meant to be a European continent, are meant to resemble Scandanavia and Russia respectively. Also consider that all the non-contiguous states and territories of the United States are in the Northern Hemisphere and on an bordering ocean, making travel between the two generally easy. These territories do not seem to be very accessible from the FSA. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Err Suria is already the Russian equivalent. UL099 is possibly meant to be like Inuit or smth like that. Anyway Uletha isnt meant to be restricted to European totally.

I’ve taken parts of Alaska and Nunavut as inspirations for the more remote parts of Suya Ahn, which are very far south and are not warmed by the ocean currents the way the northern part of the country is. That means for me a mountainous, wooded coastline, few roads, airstrips used for travel, and small, compact villages. I don’t have the space, but it would be cool to see a vast, lightly-inhabited arctic or subarctic region elsewhere.
