OpenGeofiction
So, i’ve barely been 3 days (ish) on this site and i’ve been having alot of fun mapping around. I’ve grabbed some inspiration from other people’s cities, albeit, most of what i build are small towns like the ones you would see where i live.
I would enjoy it if you could give me some feedback on the two towns and the roads that connect them that i’ve built (I would also enjoy some feedback on the highway infrastructure i’ve built, you can find it as “N3 Norte/Sur”)

There are a lot of racetracks, also don’t use real-world names. About your towns, put more effort, also put more detail in buildings and trees, etc.

Jesus, the only real world name (atleast to my knowledge) is Montevideo, whom i am in the process of getting rid of. Río Grande is a made up town. About the effort on the towns, i would if it wasn’t for the fact that most towns i go to are exactly like the ones i built here, but i will take you up on that. On buildings and trees, yeah, maybe i will actually put more detail in them.

Very nice racetracks indeed Luciano. It’s just that i haven’t been out looking around alot near those areas. Infact, i haven’t been out looking for things in a long time!

Thanks for that information, Austin. about the bit of the racetrack, it’s essentially been unused since the 60’s, so the entire racetrack would have to be painted over with grass and woods.

Hmm, seems okay, SO MUCH BETTER than what I was making at three days in, and am making thesedays… I’d refrain from using names such as ‘Clarkson’ and ‘Hammond’ within it (we all get the top gear hint but really?) though.

Hi! You might have noticed the mountain range [here] (http://opengeofiction.net/#map=11/7.2075/122.5731) while you were adding the N3 highway. Wouldn’t you say the highway looks too straight for the rugged terrain and too close to the summits of the mountains?
Mountainous roads do exist, and the highway you have drawn isn’t a bad location to put a two-lane mountain road instead. But unless the geography justifies the location of the N3 (maybe the coast is a steep cliff or a large swamp, and a high mountain valley is the preferred route), the N3 probably should be closer to the coast (I’d say at least 15 km from the mountains is good).
Overall, this is a good start. As a tip, I would recommend that you watch your scale as you map (I still struggle with this myself, especially when I draw curves). Your city blocks are decently sized, but your freeway interchanges could be much larger. We can’t have drivers braking too hard as they exit the freeway, can we? XD
