Rate the scale of this little hamlet

Posted by Panzerbyte on 5 November 2018 in English (English)

Hello all!

I am hereby asking you to rate the scale of the hamlet I've got going in the blue nation of Drull. I've been using the scale helper and been measuring everything with great care but I am still unsure about the scale of it all, especially because the surroundings are so different proportionally, like the intersection next to the hamlet that I did not create.

Thank you :)

Location: Struch, Hogenburg, Drull Free State

Exemplary.

I reckon the buildings in the backyard of one house (Sparstraat 2a etc.) are sheds, stables or caravans ? The only thing you missed is turning the road in your parking lot on the right into a 'service road=parking_aisle'. Apart from that, a fine -looking place.

Marcello.

Woah thank you!

The buildings on number 2 (a, b, c) are standing on a trailer park, so they are trailers in varying sizes. Ah thanks for that helpful hint, didn't know it was possible to make them into parking aisles. Really helpful and appreciated, thanks.

I would also make a hole in the forest to avoid tree texture in the residental area. To do that without deleting the forest you need to turn it into relation and tag the residental area boundary as forest = inner. Example to study.

  • Would say the houses are way too small, like it's around 50m2
  • A small hamlet does not need a police department

@Rustem Pasha - Thank you for your feedback, I was wondering how I would do that. That would do the trick. :)

@austinhuang - Thank you as well. Yes, these are small old houses of around 50m². They were one of the first houses in Stalten (which is a WIP). You may be right on the police station. I will see to it that the department gets evicted and the building re-purposed.

Thank you Luciano. Looks like the scale is alright right?

Highway scale is good. You need to smooth out the curves, though.

Building scale is a problem. Compare the houses, markets, etc. with the buildings in OSM. And parking lots take up a lot of space...

The highway was the only thing I didn't make. Personally I thought it was not too bad, but I can see the problem. Thank you for your feedback!

Would like to see more developments of the hamlet! I may consider recruting you for the collab project at Antigo. But first, I need to see more developments first.

Cheers Zhenkang! Indeed it'd be best for me to plop down a proper hamlet so I can get a feeling for it.
