Hm. Definitely very similar. It would be good to try and give them the benefit of the doubt and say they created it on their own (or subconsciously copied), since it is a variation on a grid with a Loop-style rail around the city center that could theoretically be arrived at independently. Still, the cities should be differentiated, perhaps this person could add in something to make their city more unique.

Oh lol. Spot the difference competition… Nevertheless, you can tell which is the original. The both of you may be neighbours, but this is copying on the next level.
@austinhuang I rather speak with the copier first. Maybe it was unintentional, but nevertheless, best to ask him before bringing it to the admins.

But the loop in Lake City with 4 branches make sense - the loop in the other city with only two branches is less realistic.

Honestly I’m okay with it, since it’s just the downtown area that’s remarkably similar – once you get into the neighborhoods the communities are different – but I wish the other mapper would have been just a little more unique. Street networks are one thing (I know I didn’t create the first gridded street system here, haha), but it’s quite the faithful reproduction right down to the corner circle, belt motorway, museum on the waterfront, numbered north-south avenues, elevated transit loop two blocks from the central circle…
I’d rather not get the admins involved, because like a few people have mentioned, it’s not a wholesale copy and the other mapper is getting more original as their city develops. Just thought it was interesting, and glad to hear other mappers can figure out which one was the original.

There are some differences, so it’s not exact copying. I dunno if it’s against rules or not, still. Probably is. Because I had to look at it before a good 3 minutes to realize that it was similar.
