Awesome! I don’t think I’ll be able to join, because I got my own territory a few months ago and picked up WAY too much of a vision of it to give it up. I might help with the community-owned territories, though.

@FancyFoxy: Well, the vision described recently in the wiki is definitely problematic. Having human habitation for that area begin in 1963 would seem to violate the site rule about realism, and all the history involving Vidipurpura violates the rule against writing about others’ countries. So unfortunately all that will need to change.
One big advantage of AR120, that hasn’t really been mentioned so far, is that it can provide a coherent context for anyone struggling to create a realistic backstory for their country. By moving their mapping and visions to AR120, people who aren’t great at creating history can easily anchor their work within a larger historical framework that makes more sense and feels more realistic.

@isleño: I can agree that I didn’t make the best Wiki article, but I meant more of a vision as in where I wanted cities to be, how big they’d be, the highways, etc.; stuff related to the maps.

Well, mapping stuff can easily be moved, resized, rotated, etc, to fit in a new location. Regardless of whether this may or may not describe your situation, if anyone out there is interested in moving, but finding it hard to imagine how they might get their current mapping to work within AR120, they should feel free to contact admin and we’d be happy to brainstorm creative solutions for those issues. :-)

I want to get involved in this, but I don’t know if Pretany has enough detail to request new territory. But I get so bored with Pretany sometimes I think I would want just a small “Midatlantic” state to be like a “Pretanic colony” or something. Maybe someplace on a sound or bay where I can build an american style city. I am american BTW so I would be good at it.

Well, bhj, there are still collaborative territories to join. I
I dont wish to own a state myself, yet it is still fun to get involved. Maybe if I do, I will make some minor contributions to one of the collabprative states mentioned. I may just get involved in AR120-84, but just as a place for me to get a break from Singkangia, and probably create another Katayan outpost.

I am looking to own a state by the lakes. How about we name the lake split between AR120-58 and AR120-59 Lake Tulpanen? I just made it up off of the top of my head, thought it sounded cool.

Can’t wait to see how this develops! I’m busy enough with my own country to even consider owning a state, but I’m very interested to see how the northwest of the country develops right next to my country.

Excellent! Time for me to app for a state, and contribute to it. :)
Comment from Acadiana Mapper on 30 April 2018 at 21:49
For me I would prefer a state that models after the Louisiana region of Acadiana, hence my name, but to also either have a modeled state after Alabama or West Virginia.
I would really want to contribute to this new project, and also to have a corner of the Southeastern USA portion of the map. (A minimum) of Louisiana and Alabama (Modeled States). There is tooo much potential

(Follow Up)
I think the capital of the entire country is well suited in the South because why not
Comment from superleaf1995 on 30 April 2018 at 22:27
Maybe the biggest city should not be the capital, see NY, Chicago, Austin, Houston, etc, etc, etc. So the “Washington” can be smaller than 4 cities (Suggestion).

I like the ideia, but i won’t try to participate in the map editing, i’m Brazilian, so the U.S is a foreign land. I hope the people who work there make a really good work, wich i’m ceratin they will do
Comment from Davieerr on 4 May 2018 at 22:36
Trying to map a region that you never visited is really hard

When is the vote going to happen on the name submissions?
Comment from Arlo on 5 May 2018 at 13:36
@yoyo21 They’re waiting for people to certify that they will stick to their states and not leave halfway through. It will happen in a week or so. :)

It’s also that people are still joining up. We want to let everyone have a chance to join before we get started. In addition, we hope to select the coordinators for the collab territories before voting begins, since they will get a vote as well.
