"Zalghira Space Center"

Posted by eleinads on 23 November 2018 in English (English)

The "Zalghira Space Center" in Gardensa is now fully mapped. I hope you think it's good, otherwise I can correct anything. As I said in a previous post, the Republic of Gardensa is small, and so the Space Center (also because of its tropic-equatorial position, suitable for the orbits of the rockets) hosts missions from other countries. Then, who among you is interested and think that its country can benefit from it, please let me know, so I'll take it into account when I update the Wiki. Thanks eleinads

Location: Tabliria, Gardensa

The general concept of the area looks very good but railways... They are just wrong. Curves are way too small, the distance between the tracks is tooo big and the crossovers at the and are a bit too short to be effective. See how to make realistic railways and try to avoid curves with radius lesser than 400 meters (or in specific conditions like lack of space or complicated terrain 200 meters). First value allows to use the track with the speed of train like 40 km/h, the last is for minimal speed.

Rustem Pasha,

I corrected the curvature of the railway. Consider that this is a stretch inside the base, where the trains move slowly. But now maybe it's a little better. In case I will correct it further.

This applies to the "normal" section of railway passing through the base.

Instead, the interior stretch that goes from the hangars to the launch pads, which was supposed to be a special track for the rockets already assembled, I changed it. Now it is no longer a railway, but a track for a track similar to the Cape Kennedy "Crawlerway". For it I used the same way of mapping that way in OSM.

Likely Antigo may use it for launching some satellites and even missiles. Great. Now I have a possible model to build up Antigo's nuclear base and missile launching sites.

(Beware of Antigo missiles whizzing past your heads in Gardensa!)

Eleinads,

Now the railway looks OK. I didn't write a single word about the crawlerway because it's an individual construction predistinated to have one unique function so usual norms don't apply to it. I'm not even sure how it should be tagged so the real world analogue is probably the best choice.

zhenkang,

check in the wiki if the last part of the paragraph dedicated to the Space Center fits you, the sentence that starts with: "On the other hand, some of the current activities..."

Thank you.

It looks fine so far, but you can say there are no reports thus far of any Antigoan missile launches from that base.

Would you like to collaborate with Antigo and build a nuclear site there? In Alam.

zhenkang,

I've sent a you a DM... (it's not good to negotiate between a democracy and a dictatorship in the light of the sun).

Considering Freedemia's location in Tarephia, it seems like any sort of Freedemian innovations or collaborations likely would have launched through Zalghira Space Center with cooperation of other allies (Freedemia likely wouldn't have been able to do any major space missions alone considering size).

Ernestpcosby, ok, I've updated the wiki. (the paragraph "To manage the base...").
