Devellopement of New Carnaby

Posted by histor on 10 February 2019 in German (Deutsch).

Four counties in New Carneby (Federal States of Archanta) west of the metropole of Stanton shall be develloped. This work is nothing for friends of motorways and excessive rectangled street grids - here we prefer a more rurual type of urbanisation.

Rails, motorways and primary roads are given. No more “towns”. (“Town” here mean a place with more than 50,000 inhabitants). Only one town in each county may have 100,000 to 120.000 inhabitants, the others with lesser people. Only small regional airfields (one in a country). Town boundaries here are usual with admin_level = 8

Only one wiki-article for each county to avoid overwikification.

Sure you may change details of the given items, but not the generel layout. May be at some occassions you feel, a changing of the layout is necessary - then we can discuss about. If you can be friend with this conditions, please write to BMSOUZA or histor to get your claim.

It can be offered:

=== Aldergate County === see [] flat landscape. In the east sleeping towns for Stanton, in the west rurual character. Town boundaries are given.

=== Beaver County === see [] low hills, generally rurual character, in the east sleeping towns for Stanton

=== Pacuhanco County === see [] flat landscape, rurual character, in the west more or less swampy area of Carnegy River. In the east changing to soft hills. You may add few towns

=== Six Lakes County === see[] hilly landscape, holiday area for Stanton, many weekend-houses, small villages and towns, romantic lakes

Six Lakes County is given to Charlie G

Reminds me of Pennsylvania. I would like to map out Beaver County.

The Beaver County is reserved for No Way.

Now there are free Aldergate County and Pacuhanco County. It is so: If there are some nice kitten, which you will choose? If there are nice all, you take the one, which come to you smelling with the nose at your hand and say “Meoow”.

Just so you know,

  1. I’m from Pennsylvania, so I can help if you need suggestions
  2. Are these counties only reserved for us? I would think at least one more person could get a mapping spot.
  3. I have no idea what analogy @histor is making lol

This counties are 1100 to 1500 km² and forseen each for one mapper. Let us start with this simple rule. If in the future an other form of collaboration can be used, we will see.

Analogy? Come first - get first (if there are no other circumstances).

Is it required to own a wiki-account? I’m waiting since October for a full account and my own territory. To shorten the time (and in the case that it is not seen as hindrance to get the requested territory) I can develop Aldergate County.

No, a wiki-account can established later. I will notice you for Adergate and you can edit there

Einen Wiki-Account kannst du auch später noch bekommen. Für das editieren in Aldergate ist er nicht unbedingt nötig. Ich habe dich für Aldergate notiert.

Thank you Histor for taking the lead on this. Hopefully once I am settled with my new job I can find some time to learn JOSM and continue mapping. As of now I can’t find any browser that will allow Potlatch2 to work. I look forward to being an active participant on OGF soon.

@ Easky30: So far as I know, Firefox will no more tolerate “Flash”, which is necessary to use Podlatch2 (Reasons of security). Therefore I change to the iD-editor, which is simple to learn. But other mapper prefer JOSM, which seemed to be the better choose.

Can the alignment of 15 ALT be realigned so that it now will travel along Brelinne Orchard Road? The owners of Brelinne Vineyard would like 15 ALT to run down this road so that it is easier to navigate to their establishment.

@No Way: So as I change it? If not, please change yourself to your proposed way.

By the way = Such detailled questions better are discussed at the inbox/outbox function as here in the diary.

Just so you know, user diaries are in markdown, not MediaWiki markup, so

Terrain looks great. Unfortunately I’m too busy to map now so I’ll let someone else take the counties. Thanks anyway.
