Here we have some new road-colours - and not more this "not to see"-green for the trunk-roads, if the road is between green landscape. Is this new "#ff69be" (in the colour-table named as "hot pink") too much hot? May be we can make it a little bit lesser dominant. Primary now is "#ffa501" and secondary "ffff01", which means nearly plain yellow. The colour of motorways (blue') and tertiary and lesser roads and pathes are unchanged.
Sure there is some smoothing-work to do (the ref-shields and some pieces over bridges).
The garden-pattern has now colour #77e72f as iiEarth has suggested.
Next step will be a seperate colour for freight-railways. We already have blue for subways, green for commuter-rails, red for hi-speed trains. Can we drop the green for the commuters and use it for freight-rails or did you think, we need a seperate colour for both? And if yes, which?
It is some years ago, the histor-style is changed the last time. So now let us have an update. First the firmland gets a colour more bright, because with the past colour the map looks too dark. Gardens get an light green. Some new symbols (doctor, veterinary, craftsman) will add to the symbols and in next time some other will be added - mainly in connection with the shipping-lines.
The zoo-symbol is changed (not more the elephant, but a catpaw - from a lion :-) ). Nevertheless I am not sure, if this is the best soloution - may be better is an abstrat pattern (green with points?). We will see.
The green of the trunk-roads is no good colour for this highways. I think, a light blue is better - or darker red? What do you prefer?
In the past some user ask me for a special colour or marking for railway-tracks only for freight use. We have in the histor-style red for the hi-speed rails, green for commuter-rails, blue for the subways and other rails are gray (see here [https://opengeofiction.net/#map=16/-13.5752/39.6951&layers=H]). What significant different colour may be perfect?
Hello everybody... I´m working on my first city "Sawanka" (Country=Kalm) First of all... thanks for this very very good map. Finally something, I searched long time to create my own town. But I have a question, it´s a little bit difficult to create an "showable" city, so I´m looking for some tools, who can create cities an little bit easier. O.k. - there are more places in Huntington, where you can go in the evening. But the real night quarter, the red-light district of the town is behind the railway station. In the north the Ispelia Street, east the Gobrassanya Avenue, south the Ataraxia Street and in the west the Kalm Avenue are the imaginaire boundaries of this area. Here the night can be dangerous, sexy, loud and fascinating.

Four counties in New Carneby (Federal States of Archanta) west of the metropole of Stanton shall be develloped. This work is nothing for friends of motorways and excessive rectangled street grids - here we prefer a more rurual type of urbanisation.
Rails, motorways and primary roads are given. No more "towns". ("Town" here mean a place with more than 50,000 inhabitants). Only one town in each county may have 100,000 to 120.000 inhabitants, the others with lesser people. Only small regional airfields (one in a country). Town boundaries here are usual with admin_level = 8
Only one wiki-article for each county to avoid overwikification.
Sure you may change details of the given items, but not the generel layout. May be at some occassions you feel, a changing of the layout is necessary - then we can discuss about. If you can be friend with this conditions, please write to BMSOUZA or histor to get your claim.

As far as I know in New York City the blocks are 60 to 240 m. If you calculate as minimum 1) street a, right side driving lane 3 m, 2) parking lane 2 m, 3) footway 3 m, 4) house at street a 12 m, 5) inner block 10 m, 6) house at street b 12 m, 7) footway 3 m, 8) parking lane 2 m and 9) street b, left side driving lane 3 m = then you get 50 m. This is the absolute minimum for reasonable buildings inside of the blocks.
If you will do a good work for the inhabitants of your town - give them more room.
the barrio # 2 of Latina (Ciudad) [http://opengeofiction.net/relation/718] was planed for 100 990 inhabitants on the 12,43 km² - means moderate 8982 inhabitants each km². Meanwhile roundabout 3090 houses there are buildt - most with 4 floors and ground floor and 12 or 24 flats in a house. Only few houses are smaller. So we can calculate 3090 * 15 flats are 46 350 flats in all. Let in each live 4 persons as average, so we get 185 400 possible inhabitants = 14 500 each km² (I hope, I did not miscalculate me).
O.k. - that is only a rough calculation. But it is to see, that 100 990 inhabitants are too few for this central dense urbanisated area. So now I set 170.990 for this area. Sure the "new" 70 000 inhabitants will be substracted in other barrios, to let the total inhabitants of Latina (Ciudad) on the same level.
So we can see, that the planed inhabitants can be fixed only after the step, that all houses are drawn
Meanwhile the southern part of Barrio # 2 (named "Barrio Nuovo") has got some urban athmosphere. It is a mixes area with houses with 5 floors, but some surviving smaller and older buildings. In the middle of the blocks often are some small industry or baker, plumber and so on. Most important building are the stock-exchange and to the right at the Avenida Sardenga the juristic part of the university. For all, which love pets, look at Passage Cantabria please.

I plan to apply for the Geolympic Summer Games 1988. At the moment not everything is done, especially the city and the infrastructure need more details to be accepted. In addition to the games (buildings, venues and a list of all sporting events) I plan to simulate the results.
My idea to simulate all events in a few words: I think to host a Geolympic event is a great reward. In the same way, having successful athletes is a honour for a country and should not be randomly or decided by the "first come, first serve"-principle as it is done at the moment. Therefore the simulation of these events is part of my proposal. How it works?
Do you know the card game Top Trumps? It will be a basic ingredient of the simulation.
First think of two countries, both have the same number of mapped sporting facilities and the same level regarding wiki-articles, which is one important fact. So both countries are allowed to decide how to distribute the same number of points in some sport-related categories on the card. Small and undeveloped countries have less points, large high developed countries have more points.
In the sport event cards of countries are compared to each other. Which categories are compared depends on outside influences, is to some extent randomly chosen and also depends on the opponents. So all have the chance to win, however high effort in mapping and writing yield better chances :) One positive secondary effect would be that also unpopular sports (-> all sports except soccer and racing) are developed in OGF!

The city of Cordoba (5 674 865 inhabitants) since today is an own province in the state of Latina. Congratulations to the city of culture and music.
100 to 146 different sort of birds live in the towns in Europa, Amerika, Asia and Australia. But so many only, if there are grass, shrubs and trees among the stones. To have this diversity, it is necessary, that parks have 10 ha (1/10 km²) or more and that for genetic health there are helpful junctions between the parks as trees along the street or trees on a strip in the middle of the street or avenue. (means Bernhard Kegel in his book "Tiere in der Stadt"/animals in the town)

I'm just working on the history of Norðurland. And I thought about that around the Vinn Sea area, there could have existed a commercial-defensive organization of cities and countries like the Hanseatic league around the Baltic and North Sea (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanseatic_League). In my writings, I currently mention it as the "Vinnic League".
Maybe, this league could even have been revived in (or have survived until) nower days as a supranational union to ease trade as "Vinnic Union".
Any suggestions about this (like the name or in general), especially from the Vinn Sea - adjacent state owners? If there are no caveats during the next days, I will create a conforming wiki article.

Hello, brave mappers out there!
Currently, I'm working on a map of the suburban railroad network of Frjálshöfn. I'd like to create smooth curves like in Andy's map of Puerto Real (see here: http://opengeofiction.net/wiki/index.php/File:Porto-Real-urban-rail-network.png)
However, theses Beizer curves are driving me insane! I don't figure out how to really create smooth, even curves for a 45 degree angle, and I can't even think of making two or more of these curves parallel!
Is sb as experienced as Andy is and can share the magic to me? Inkscape or Illustrator doesn't matter, I have both (even if I prefer Inkscape).

In Elegantia southeast are free some areas for industry use north and south of the motorway # 3. If anybody will place a factory - he/she is welcome. If a factory is founded, I will draw the railway-connection.

I wish, some people are more careful with the boundaries of administration-units. If one do not exactly know , what to do, then he (or she) can please look in our wiki-tutorial about boundaries, before he (or she) draws a lot of false boundaries.
So please ...
... set not a new boundary at an older boundary without to to make at the connecting node two pieces of the old boundary (with the scissor-tool) . In other case no one of your boundary-relations will work well.
... let never two or more boundary-ways let run about the same nodes. If anywhere is an administrative boundary it is always only ONE way. What a sort of boundary this is, is shown with the admin_level. So if a country-boundary (level 2) and a province-boundary (level 4) have the same way, draw only the country-boundary. The province-boundary between different provinces must end at the country-boundary and NOT run with the country-boundary around your province.
