Hey everyone, has anyone ever made a map showing our worlds climate zones? Would be helpful to know exactly where its warm, cold, moderate etc. Example: My territory says it has a cold cimate, but compared to where it would be located on the real earth it would be in southern Brasil, somewhere around Curitiba or Sao Paulo, to be more precise. So the climate needs to be corrected in some places I would say. What do you think?

Dear other fellow OGF users, After having thought about this I realised that my country Pasalia and furthermore its capital city Pasaliapolis are absolutely horrible rubbish. Everytime I map something there it makes it look bad somewhere else. ,,Why dont you just start over again?’’ Do I seem like person who wants to waste his time deleting endless amounts of horrendous s….? No… So: Pasalia will hereby be declared free and open to other users. I am going to look around for some collab country and map some detailed! things there. Seems like I suck at creating realistic cities from scratch. The first step to improvement is realising you screwed up! Therefore… well… thats all I wanted to have said basically. Note I am not completly abandoning it! I will update the wiki maybe and might even map some stuff or not.

For the Construction of 1) A University Hospital which will include a vast majority of departments a hospital can offer, laid out as a series of highrise- buildings, greenery between, parking garages, access roads for emergency vehicles aswell as a helicopter landing site.

2)A University, Including most faculties, auditoriums, parking spaces, greenery and everything else a large university needs that can be mapped.

3) A botanic garden next to the university.

Hey there, Welcome to OGF, I’d like to remind you of some short things:

1st: CALM…DOWN… we all do mistakes, no ones gonna rip your head off for doing mistakes.

2nd: CALM….DOWN… Yes we saw that deleted coastline or messed up border etc., no thats not a reason to panic or be ashamed or whatever. Also mind that OGF tends to take its time so checking the next morning should be early enough to proudly look at your mapping results.

3rd: CALM…….DOWN…. Everyone starts from the bottom, but before asking if we are ok with every little detail It’d be useful if you read through the help pages and wiki articles before. Maybe that’ll help you decide, afterall if its not unrealistic its ,your’ country (if you claimed your own already) and you can do whatever you have planned.

Hello fellow mappers, how are you all doing? I’d like to show you something really interesting I’ve found online, if thats ok with the admins. To start: So I’m myself from the ,Ruhr Area’ in western germany, which is a huge urban area that used to be germanys central steel and coal producer,with about 8 million people and a population density of about 2000/km, almost 8000/km if you only count the central urban part.The area used to be dominated by heavy industry until the 1980s and has managed to move more towards other businesses. Theres a agency that takes care of special projects like museums and also, here it gets interesting, Aerial Footage taken all the way from the 1930s until today. Some time ago these were published on a website called ,, https://www.luftbilder.geoportal.ruhr/ ‘’. Why am I telling you? Because if offers the opportunity to view the development of an european urban agglomeration in the past 90 years with footage from 1926,1934, 1952,1963,1969,1990, 1998, 2006, 2009 and 2015. I believe this is unique in that we have aerial ,google maps’ style footage of such an large and important area and that it might be helpful to be able to take it as help to see how cities have developed, with fields being transformed into endless suburbs or large industrial sites being used for modern warehouses or parks. You can zoom all the way in and even see how much space was given to cars during the 60s-90s and how cities started to re-arange urban spaces, large through roads becoming pedestrian zones etc. or zoom out and look how all these autobahnen that used to be under construction in the 1969 view are not only finished but covering the whole area, and where in the 1990 view one can obviously see the space where they wanted to continue but didnt.

Hello How are you guys? Did anyone else notice that the map seems to update really slow? Usually when I edit it should take no more than a couple hours at most to update, sometimes even only a hour. But now when I map something it literally takes up to 3 days before it even partially shows up on the map. Anyone else have similar experiences? (Edit: Now it seems to show it partially on closely zoomed in. I’ll keep an eye on that anyways.)

Hey Guys, how are you all?

So with user ,William’ having introduced his idea of an EU, European Economic Alliance style project, I thought: What place would an organisation like Nato have in our OGF-World. Historically Wars mostly got the way the got because of nations being allied to each other, having been prominent in WW1 and 2, and especially the Cold War. So was just thinking what impact would large organisations like these have had and still have on OGF-World or wouldnt a cold war type of scenario have been as present in this world? Just Stuff for thought guys. Happy Mapping

Hello my fellow OGF-ers, I’ve got several things to say today, so I’m just gonna work them off in a list.

1.) As some of you may have read already I’m planning to have my country be somewhat 1950s/ early 1960s retro like. Following this I received some feedback from you that it should be guided by a proper backstory . Following a lot of evenings of thinking (and diet coke) I came to conclusion to have it be like this: Up to the late 40s everything goes its normal path down. After a possible war/threat scenario, Pasalia even considers using the nuclear weapons it build. This would then lead to a ‘cold war’ situation and, even more important, a large uproar around the world. This again would lead to some countries setting up anti-pasalia rallies which would somewhat isolate it culturally from the outside. Now the 50s thing comes into play which would cause the country to stay in that certain way for longer than usual, with only slowly making progress. After the whole thing cooling down in the late 60s/70s maybe (?), it starts becoming more modernized, but meanwhile the population has found the way everything so nice they choose to keep many aspects of it. Now that is where someonee of you could get the big role: First of all like always your feedback, opinions and nagging is always appreciated :p Second: Anyone of you wanting to be a part of this as the big bad nation?

Aside from that: I’m currently also busy with creating ‘Futuria City’ which is a planned city build in the 50s,60s and possibly into the 70s even. Imagine it a bit as a mix between real Brasilia and La Defense in Paris. Any companies wanting to have a office in a cosy skycraper with added parking garage? Currently looking to fill up the downtown area.

Hello everyone hope you had a nice day. So lately I’ve been making some progress on Pasalia but always thought there must be something I’m missing. Turns out I think I’m lacking a general concept for it so far. Now, after some hours of thinking about that, I further realised to have created a small problem (that turned out to help my idea) . Sooo… I first started mapping in german but then changed to english, so i then came up with the idea of making my country bi-lingual (think real life the french speaking part of canada) but here it would be my capital region speaking german and the rest Ingerish. Any of you got any tips or opinions on that? Second and maybe the most interesting thought I had so far. One thing I can tell is that I’m really having some ‘nostalgia’ for 1950s north america (aka the US). Now I was thinking how it would be possible to design a modern day 2016 country that is culturally still somewhat stuck in the 1950s (E.g: obviously having modern day tech but driving 50s-design influenced cars and being a bit living their culture, without all the racism, discrimination and generell weirdness and having modern day buildings but with a bit of ‘‘googie-architecture’, google it if you want to know) So after this oddly long post What are your thoughts on this, admittedly strange, idea? Hi everyone, I was thinking about some important historical dates for my country Pasalia and one of them is the launch of the first satellite. Now I was asking myself how this whole matter of Rocket Launches is supposed to be handled. Would be great to hear from others if they intend on having something like that or if there are any international agreements on this matter?
