[FSA Question] Are there radio stations?

Posted by Pancake Killer on 22 May 2019 in English (English)

I'm editing my county's wiki page to look somewhat similar to my county's real life page (different names obviously) and there is a "radio" section. Does FSA/AR120 have a callsign system similar to that of the US? I'm sorry if I should do it some other way, but this is what came to mind first.

We should, but we don’t yet. Add it to the list.

I'd have to make a whole new section, are you sure I'm allowed to do that?

If you’d feel more comfortable starting the conversation in the forums instead, go for it.

I wonder whether call signs are a thing outside the US. What do you need them for anyway? Also you don't see it on the map.

Therefore consider how much fuss this is going to make and what the benefit is.

Radio towers are things that do get mapped (and generally labeled with the callsign of whatever signal they broadcast), and they have an impact on the surrounding land use in more urban areas. While I wouldn't call it a critical issue for the FSA project, it is something we should consider at some point.

At some point? If this is really an issue to discuss... and unfortunately I somehow feel that there are at least some users who strongly have the need to work out callsign systems before proceeding with mapping... are you serious?

What's the purpose of unsubstantial discussions like "I like to call it S", "maybe E", "no, W is better", "so let's call it N"? If an user is really interested in an issue he should take on responsibility and present some proposals (based on hard facts on the map)! But discussing about issues not present on the map? If so, we should rather discuss about the standardization of toilet paper in the OGF world, it is needed urgently!

Speaking of toilet paper, Antigo's is one of the best quality. Do you want to import some, mstr?

And radio, well, there isn't honestly much to map about it except a few broadcasting stations, some wires and a few offices in case anyone wants to complain about the programme. I suggest, instead of stopping at radio, why not create a mega broadcasting station for television and radio stations as well in a city? There should be a news press office nearby and stuff.

But for the wiki, I doubt you need to write too much about it. Why need a whole page of a radio channel? Briefly talk about what programme it offers, its reception and its significance in FSA. Is it the free-est radio station uncontrolled by the state government? Otherwise, it isn't really worth writing about it. You can just slap any callsign you want.

I encourage all users to tune into Antigo's government-controlled liar-free and tax-free radio channel AntigoRadio. boardcasts military music to the late great leader

I mean, radio call signs seem like something we could have. But it's not worth 15 pages of debate in the forum.
