I just finished the Paul Luc-Jean Centrale Nucléaire (PLCN), and I wanted to know if it is the largest and how to improve it.

Some Context

In 2003, the government of Bélice passed Le Loi Vert (The Green Bill), banning the use of gasoline cars by residents, among other things. One of the effects was that all old gas plants were demolished and replaced with the one new nuclear power plant. Construction was already underway as far back as 1997, and with a lot of government funding, the entire site was completed in 2018.

The construction of the facility cost the government the equivalent of $40 000 000 000, along with other costs associated with The Green Bill, which had put the nation into massive amounts of debt, but with the surplus of energy created by the plant, Bélice is now running more surpluses and slowly moving out of debt.

About The Plant

Each of the large stations (nicely named Station 1, 2, and 3) contain 4 state-of-the-art BEDU (Analogue of CANDU) reactors, and therefore contain 12 reactors in total. This one plant can supply the entire nation with power and still have more to export to other nations nearby. There are nearby wind and solar farms, as well as hydroelectric dams (coming in the future)

Is it allowed to use the Blue countries like a ‘Testing Zone’ for cities to see if we like it, then copy-paste it into our own countries?

Also, could it be possible to ‘Control’ those kinds of areas that we use as a literal ‘testing ground’?

Has anyone so dar tried making dikes in their OGF country? I know I have, and I’m starting the new project here, or the Real-World counterpart here.

I figured out how it was done in OSM. Still, I want to know how people at OGF have done it.

Over time, I noticed the Word of the Week being posted here for people to participate in, but now there aren’t any more being posted. Are the people busy, was it moved elsewhere, or was it discontinued altogether?

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! Does anyone know how to make a large plateau in their nation? I’m thinking that you just put a cliff, but it is not very representative of a plateau and doesn’t render as quickly as the structures around it. If anyone knows or has any examples, please tell me. Once again, Happy Holidays!

There is a cliff on the map that I’m trying to use as a plateau, but it does not render as quickly as the road on the other side of the border (At Zoom 12). This is what I mean.

Hello Everyone,

I have been here for at least 5 months, and I still don’t think that my mapping skills have gotten any better since Day 1. I am still very dissatisfied with my work and am willing to delete it all if needed. If anyone reading this has the time, could you please criticise my work in a comparison from Day 1 to now. I will not be disclosing the time I worked on it to give a fair atmosphere. Please give any advice, even if it is to delete it all and start over. Also, if I am to start over, I am wondering if I should start with all the roads connecting the big cities, then the small cities, then work on the big cities, then small. Any criticism is accepted, thanks.

I have tried my best to produce the highest quality work I can for OGF, and I am improving, but nevertheless, how could I improve (roadwise) on this place? I want it to have a more planned theme like Salt Lake City, which by the way is not bordering a lake, with a giant grid. I know that there is something missing within this framework, but I can’t place my finger on it. Please help me. Any kind of criticism for this area only is welcomed. Ignore the surrounding cities. I am not proud of them and will be redeveloping them soon.

I followed the video exactly on how to set up JOSM, but after downloading the area I want to work on, the layer starts off as a black background with a bunch of lines. I tinkered around with the layers, and even reinstalled JOSM, but it still remains. Is this something that’s wrong with my computer, or is this a part of setting up JOSM for OGF?

P.S: We should get a Discord server just for OGF. Just my suggestion.

Is there a list of Observatories/Research Facilities in the Wiki? (Not including the Southern Islands)

Hi. Is anyone mapping their nation’s in the Filipino language (Tagalog)? If so, I would like to know what the equivalent in OGF is. Also we should have a map of the tectonic plates so we can see where mountains would be.

At what point of a nation’s development would it be appropriate to create a Wiki Page for it while not Overwikifying it? I was wonering as I was planning for a Wiki Page for my nation, but am not sure if my nation was even nearly developed enought to even think about planning for one.

As I was building my nation, I wondered whether to build the smallest cities first or just start with the huge metropolises (I think that’s correctly spelled). As I was thinking, is it easier to build the outlines to the city and motorways first (Assuming all the nature is planned out) or is it easier to build each city one by one with every street named? I really don’t know how to build my nation st this point anymore. Please help me. I am currently building my nation province by province, but is there a more effective way to do this?

Additionally, I seem to have done something to delete my country name from the map, does anyone know how I can fix it? Do I just have to go to every part of my border and fix my Administrative Boundary relation and Multipolygon? [Zoom out from map.]

I’ve decided to officially fix my blue country territory and take a break from my official territory. This comes after a message from admin and a comment on my ‘Area for Sale’ Joke: Area For Sale! (Just A Joke). I hope that my blue country neighbors will be satisfied with me fixing it.

Perkins Point, a small plot of land with unusually-sized houses, all surrounded by a seawall that even continues onto the land! It has a futuristic type of airport with circular runways, actually researched by the BBC. It is followed by the Greater Perkins Point Area (GPPA) that hosts an [OK] industrial sector by CorpalBrandon and an unfinished Suburbian community. It has a canal for ships and three separate forests (Beatland, Abedies, Point Forests), one with campgrounds. The city is situated near the Drew River Delta NR, a beautiful area, and there is easy access there through Galvin Rd. The city is easily accessible through the N5, Coastal Rd., and Galvin Rd. There are some security bases on the outer islands to ‘Protect’ the area.

Are there any examples in OGF of runways for a Regional Airport? I have been using Toronto Pearson International Airport as a benchmark for runways, but I think I’ve taken it a little too far… Thanks! It might not appear yet in standard mode at the time of posting.

I started on OpenGeofiction about a week and a bit ago, and while I waited for my territory-requesting period, I decided to make a city from scratch. It was a little confusing where I could build until someone sent me the overview map. I found an area I wanted and started by building a road that went straight across. I then built many supporting roads to fill in the rest of the area. I built a lighthouse on the northernmost point of the peninsula, and some beaches. Following that, I just built whatever I thought I needed in the city, basing the center-area on my neighborhood. I also added a few artificial islands, Karpen and Kirken island on the west coast. Note how they look extremely unrealistic. I then proceeded to build the Business-Residential area. I placed a Moderate-Sized [or so I thought] blob for a residential area, called it the Jan Mooren Townhouses, and put a massive forest behind it. I did not know about the OGF Scale Helper (http://tile.opengeofiction.net/util/map_scale.html?map=2.466367943172236/11.97132/85.14261&map2=x/36.23664/68.11143&pxpt=0.277&scale=100000000), so I did not think about checking the sizes. I then went east and made a suburban area, using the same size houses for every street in the area, and numbering them intricately. I left it there and worked on something else, until Isleño told me to use the OGF Scale Helper to compare the sizes of my buildings to their real-life counterparts. I checked one of my Suburban houses to a house in real life, and my house was 10 times larger. It was too late to resize them all, so I had to build another one, still near Perkins Point.

Lesson of The Day: Always check the scale of your buildings so they aren’t palaces instead of houses. Also, don’t make your buildings weird shapes just so they fit in between every block.
