AR045 - South Archanta (south of FSA)

Posted by wangi on 4 October 2019 in English (English)

Hi, as part of the review into Archantan territories we are reworking a number of territories to the south of the Federal States. This is the area: https://opengeofiction.net/relation/1001

The aim is to create a single country where the individual states, or portions of them, will be assigned to users. The hope is this will lead to more coherent mapping. However, in a difference to the Federal States, we are keen to not base this tightly on a real-world country, instead having the involved users come up with their own imaginative collaborative country.

Linguistically it will be:

  • Majority Franquese (French) 50%
  • One of the OGF-equivalent of Polish, Czech, Hungarian or Serbo-Croat (Latin alphabet) as an additional official language 30%
  • Ingerlish (English) 10%, but only where already mapped
  • Indigenous 10%

The capital city will be in a majority Franquese province.

Two coordinators are being sought to help with this project - French language skills being desirable for one and the additional official language for the other. Please contact wangi if you are interested.

Existing users of those territories which are affected have already been contacted, with many signing up and a couple taking the opportunity to move territory instead. Other interested users please post here, or preferably, on the forum post.

Thanks/L

Is this a type of 'immigrant country' where people from Uletha settle here and push out the indigenous population?

Are the Franquese parts Quebec-inspired?

As I don't have much time to give to OGF, I probably couldn't be a coordinator, nor own a territory there in addition to my territory in Tarephia, but if it is any other way for me to help the project of a franquese-influenced territory, I don't want to miss this opportunity.

P.S. I am French myself, of course.

Looks like the idea, I wrote some days ago, to put this area to the FSA. Now this shall be a sort of Canada - not bad at all, I like it. Important is, that we can get away from all this mini-countries to a more realistic picture. So I hope, that this idea will get a good evolution.

I can help about the Serbo-Croatian part, since I am Serbian myself. But I don't know if I will hive the time to map there. Maybe?

This is a very good idea. Will the current users there get kicked out? I did notice a couple of users relinquishing territories in the area.

Some have decided to stay, some have left, yoyo. I am not entirely sure if I want to continue in Bas-Chanceux, or do something else (either in AR045 or do a territory in North Archanta).

Will Bas-Chanceux then be leaving the FSA to join this new country?

As far as I know that will happen.

i can perhaps help assist with the franquese parts of the territory due to living in a part of the US known for it's French settlements (eastern Missouri to be exact)

This idea seems good to me. This adds more realism to the area (eliminating the large number of mini-states) and adds some more consistency to the mappings. The only thing I hope is that the idea develops well, and that in this project involved people involved in their work and not get carried away by the line of unrealism.

Well, i was a former owner of one of those territories, called Kovania, actually Kovania is on another (and much bigger) ubication :D, but well if i'm allowed to say that it could be lovely if one of those provinces would be called Kovania, to have a least signal of my former territory, or well, I'm just thought :D, Im a (not so) beginner :)

The idea is really great, (in my case, unfortunately i don't know well English and nothing of French, so i better translated my ubication), but doing something like a new and little FSA is a good idea for me :)

If you are basing it off Quebec, why not add towns like "Saint-Sacrament-sur-Tabarnak" or "Viarge-de-Calice"?
