Dear other fellow OGF users, After having thought about this I realised that my country Pasalia and furthermore its capital city Pasaliapolis are absolutely horrible rubbish. Everytime I map something there it makes it look bad somewhere else. ,,Why dont you just start over again?’’ Do I seem like person who wants to waste his time deleting endless amounts of horrendous s….? No… So: Pasalia will hereby be declared free and open to other users. I am going to look around for some collab country and map some detailed! things there. Seems like I suck at creating realistic cities from scratch. The first step to improvement is realising you screwed up! Therefore… well… thats all I wanted to have said basically. Note I am not completly abandoning it! I will update the wiki maybe and might even map some stuff or not.

Last month, while trying to gauge the prevalence of different languages in the OGF community, I looked into the user signup data and made a chart of the language preferences specified during the account creation process. This chart represents around 380 out of 3350 accounts (those with under 30 edits were excluded). It’s not a perfect snapshot of the community — many people specified multiple languages, for instance, so they are counted multiple times — but I think it’s still pretty interesting. A chart including all 3350 accounts is here, but bear in mind most of those accounts never even made any edits.

For the Construction of 1) A University Hospital which will include a vast majority of departments a hospital can offer, laid out as a series of highrise- buildings, greenery between, parking garages, access roads for emergency vehicles aswell as a helicopter landing site.

2)A University, Including most faculties, auditoriums, parking spaces, greenery and everything else a large university needs that can be mapped.

3) A botanic garden next to the university.

Guys, still calling for destinations for Litvanka!

Also, would any aerospace companies in OGF (SAI, Watanabe etc..) like to sell some aircraft to Litvanka? So far Litvanka only posesses aircraft from the Litvanian Aerospace company, MIC Aerospace. (I have had this made-up company since i was about 6 years old)

I am looking for volunteers to design liveries (or a livery) for Litvanka. I do not posess the technical knowledge of photoshop to be able to implement my livery onto aircraft photos.

I created the discord chat yesterday and it seemed to have gained almost 30 people total.

I sometimes see people nominating their own work in the wiki, which isn’t useful at all. The reason for a nomination - of course - is and always should be honest work. It is hard to follow every single picture or map detail. Thats why it isn’t a coincidence that a part of the nominations is connected to an earlier presentation in a user diary. What do you think about it? Do you have suggestions or do you feel comfortable with the current system?

This diary entry by tule00 (@tule00: Thank you!) led to my detailed reflection of how to find good names for large cities in Kalmish (= German) language.

The most dificult thing is always to find out what names “sound” like names for large cities in a specific language. For example “Hamburg” is Germany’s second largest city, but “-burg” suffix can be found in village, town, and (large) city names. So, with “-burg” names you’re on a quite safe side when naming large cities or small towns in “Kalmish” (German) language. But what about “-dorf”? It means “village”. So, it is used for villages and small towns only. With (at least) one exception: “Düsseldorf”. Everyone in Germany has a large city in mind (capital city of North Rine-Westfalia) when hearing this name, although if you look closely, it is the name for a village. :) What about “Berlin”? In fact, the name of Germany’s largest city, but there are countless smallest villages in Germany with “-in” suffix. Same with “München” (=Munich”), Germany’s third largest city.

In Kalm I used some suffixes from the real German language when naming large cities (e.g. Vennburg, Kemburg, Forberg). Then I invented some special Kalmish suffixes like “-rott” (Tarott, Bilrott) or “-ent” (Orlent, Korlent), which in my point of view sound like large cities.

In the process of slowly fixing up Quentinsburgh, I spent some time trying to make Sean Bond International Airport more realistic.

While I’m quite proud of the terminal improvements, as well as improvements to the transit center, rental car center, hotels and surrounding parking, I do also know that a lot still needs to be done. The runways are still pretty unrealistic, and I’m struggling a bit to figure out a realistic way to fix them in such a small space. Airports aren’t exactly my strongsuit.

Create a traditional tale, myth or folklore of your country. It DOES NOT need to be original, it can be based on a well known tale or story in the real world, but still originality is preferred. Write in perfect Ingerish (English), or otherwise in your country’s language and translated to Ingerish. It does not need to be too long. Also state the country of origin, or if unknown, say where it is popular in since XXX BC or AD. It does not need to be realistic; magic and mysterious powers are accepted in the tale (since the story is fictional anyway). You can post it in this wiki article instead if not here.

BONUS: If you own two or more countries, create two different versions or variants on the same tale you created on one of your countries. It is optional to state how it had travelled or spread to that country. The title of the tale can be different. For example Ye Xian and western tale Cinderella, which both are on the sale plot.

I figure this and similar articles could be useful for naming things.

Hey Guys,

I have lately been working on an airline for Litvania. That is Litvanka Airlines, which will be the flag carrier. It is an airline that operates from Molburg-Ošina, and aims to fly all around the world, with serving at least two airports in every Ulethan country(if the country has two).

Ill start work on the wiki page later.

Another airline im working on is Horjene z.a, a regional airline based in Tirstená. It operates in and out of Litvania, flying mainly to tourist destinations. It an extremely popular low-cost Litvanian airlines, and will hopefully become the EasyJet of OGF.

All i need for you guys to help is destinations. If you want to add your airport(s) please leave a comment in the following format:

Not sure what this conglomeration of freeway ramps this is supposed to be but here are some observations.

With Ontaro being the larger more dense city it would be assumed that Kazuya Beach would be more along the lines of a smaller city (ala as Sausalito is to San Francisco or Roseville to Sacramento)

Secondly. Kazuya Beach does not need a super-sized airports since less than 30 miles away there is a huge airport at Ontaro. If any, it would only need a small commuter or municipal airport.

Thirdly. Gobrassanya is a right side driving country, so having left side driving highways is not appropriate.

Fourthly and possibly most important, there needs to be an element of realism to the designing and layout of roads buildings and cities. Since the project is a creative one, much creative license is given, however we must also be mindful of the element of realism that must permeate the project. We want to make this as realistic as possible not just a haphazard laying out of roads or carelessly drawing over others contributions, especially in a shared territory.
