I’ve been mapping Dunwic in its new spot for over a year now and I have to say I’m really happy with how my neighbourhoods are turning out, especially the city centre and areas north of the river.

Although I’ve been doing a lot of detailing my next plan is to start fleshing out the shape and limits of the city and when that’s done there won’t be much scope for making any major changes. That’s why I want to get people’s feedback on whether they think the shape of Dunwic is realistic and what kind of things they would expect to see in the surrounding area.

There won’t really be any traditional suburbia due to the political and planning history of the city. Instead Dunwic will be quite physically small but dense all the way to the edges like some Dutch cities.

can anyone work out what has happened to highway=pedestrian relations as they appear to have stopped being displayed properly on the render

On the wiki I get an error message when I try and save a new page at first and then when I have created it it doesn’t appear in ‘Recent Changes’.

I just want to run Dunwic’s population estimates past people and see if they agree. I think the city is comparable in density and size to Dusseldorf, if you look at the OSM vs OGF comparison it seems quite reaosnable

I have yet to map all of the outlying towns and suburbs of Dunwic, there will be more and then it will be even more comparable. The population of the city of Dusseldorf (which does covers an area roughly similar to urban Dunwic) is 612,000. Is this a realistic number?

In that case I think it’d probably give the whole country a population of around 1,000,000 which is what I’ve always invisaged. Essentially it could be argued that Myrcia is so small that the whole island is the ‘Dunwic metro area’. It is only 1h40 by train to the farthest city on the island.

Anyway, thoughts welcome as always.

The last two days I’ve struggled to load any page on the wiki without the connection being reset or timing out. The map is allowing me to upload and download edits fairly easily but isn’t loading the tiles as smoothly as usual.

Is this just me or is everyone experiencing this? If there is a problem with server capacity or anything similar then would it be helpful to crowd fund some additional money to help with the servers? I would certainly be happy to help with a few € to keep OGF running if required.

I am getting into the swing of using JOSM but I still find relations much more confusing there than I do on Potlatch.

How do I load an existing relation? I have relations set up with all the branches of my stores and hotels and I want to add a new node to one but I cannot work out how and I cannot see any answers in the documentation.

I’m planning a trip by rail around Europe to celebrate the end of my degree in May. I’ve got an idea of which major cities I’m going to travel to but I’d love to know if anyone had any tips on what to see or any good advice for travelling by rail across Europe.
