hi.

I just finished the Paul Luc-Jean Centrale Nucléaire (PLCN), and I wanted to know if it is the largest and how to improve it.

Some Context

In 2003, the government of Bélice passed Le Loi Vert (The Green Bill), banning the use of gasoline cars by residents, among other things. One of the effects was that all old gas plants were demolished and replaced with the one new nuclear power plant. Construction was already underway as far back as 1997, and with a lot of government funding, the entire site was completed in 2018.

The construction of the facility cost the government the equivalent of $40 000 000 000, along with other costs associated with The Green Bill, which had put the nation into massive amounts of debt, but with the surplus of energy created by the plant, Bélice is now running more surpluses and slowly moving out of debt.

About The Plant

Each of the large stations (nicely named Station 1, 2, and 3) contain 4 state-of-the-art BEDU (Analogue of CANDU) reactors, and therefore contain 12 reactors in total. This one plant can supply the entire nation with power and still have more to export to other nations nearby. There are nearby wind and solar farms, as well as hydroelectric dams (coming in the future)

What do you think? Any questions?

Note: The buildings will be resized and the layout changed.

Thanks, Zekiel

After some thought, I decided that much of Nantozito, the capital of Aháas, just did not look right to me. Therefore, I also decided that I wanted to redo some parts of the city. I was wondering, given the geography, could anyone here provide any tips as to the city’s new layout so that I may improve it?

Alright, I may not be an expert on mapping, but I thought there should be some ‘mapping workouts’, you know, like warm-ups before taking on big or even medium projects.

The Mappers’ Workout is quite inspired by ‘Composers’ Workout’ from Art of Composing, where, well, anyone interested in composing is welcomed, learn some basic composing techniques and share ideas, like a forum. So like the owner of the website then started some workouts for us, quite long ago (I only re-visited the site a few days ago, then go exploring the new features a bit).

Anyway, back to the workout. The workout is based on this compositional workout, the very first one.

The workout

It can be hard to even draw a town from scratch, let alone a mega city or the capital. So I thought of starting this workout with the following instructions. (it can be done using iD or JOSM, but iD will work fine at zoom 17.)

  1. Draw just a few streets in any pattern you like, maybe like a 3x3 grid or streets spread out form a point. The streets do not have to be too long, maybe like 100m or so.

  2. Determine the land-use you would like for each street (or grid if you are drawing grids). (Residential, Commercial, Retail etc.)

  3. Draw buildings and restaurants or whatever is appropriate. The features do not be as large as a hospital or a college. Draw small, not big.

  4. Mind your scale and everything. Basic mapping rules still apply.

  5. There is no need to go and develop and expand the set of streets or go into very deep details during this workout. You are only practising the skill of creating new stuff, not developing features. This is important.

  6. After you are done with the basic stuff, well, feel free to do anything. If you have no use for the stuff you drew, then feel free to delete it, though it will be a shame.

Hi all. I just want to let you know that I am making a new city named Ville de Desirs. This city will be a new challenge for me, and I want all of you to give me any suggestion. I am accepting ALL ideas. So far, I have begun construction on the entrance to the city. The city will soon link to Persil Town and possibly cross a bridge to Ville de’Ieau. This city will be a new and important addition to my country. Thank you all for making a wonderful community!

P.S. The updates will only show at a certain zoom.

I’ve felt a bit stuck in my normal mapping lately, but my home city irl just did a major revamp of their bus system so I’d been thinking a lot about buses and routes lately. I decided to make a QUARTA bus map for central Quentinsburgh based on the routes I’d listed out on the QUARTA wiki page!!

The PDF is here:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XcvmZwxNy4rLSnduWoYwB6vKeiyW6-V8

Technically this is “West-Central and Downtown Quentinsburgh”, since “Central” refers to the area in the very middle of the city, east of what’s shown on this map.

These routes are subject to change of course, but since the roads in the area other than the islands (hence the unnumbered bus routes) are pretty much complete, I thought now would be a good time to show you guys. Blue C routes are “Crosstown”/frequent service routes, the red are just regular local routes. Express buses aren’t listed yet. Gray in the background is QLine Metro & Metro BRT, and the green and light blue are streetcars that run through downtown.

Feedback on routing would be helpful.

I still need to do a lot to it, like add transit centers and subway stops, but I think the general idea here is pretty far along.

(Alas my old laptop recently got stolen so I lost the subway map I’d been working on for the last year… but hopefully I’ll be able to get started on that again at some point too)

Hi everyone,

As I planned, the downtown portion of my city has been completed and I now have to create some residential areas of my new projected city Lenox. It has turn out to appear great on the outside but looks quite rushed when zoomed in on, either way I did my best, I decided to leave New Atlantia and make Lenox maybe the best I’ve ever done!

If you would like to suggest what I should change in my city then, Proceed!

The country of Peaceland is very incomplete, so please don’t comment on that. I only want to talk about Albert.

I have been working on the city of Albert for a while now, and I’m both proud and not satisfied with what I have made. While I love the downtown region of Albert, the road designs throughout the city feel off and unnatural. If anyone could help me figure out what to do, I’d appreciate it. Still, I’ve made a small bus map for Albert: I plan on extending all the lines shown in the map, but I only had bus routes for downtown as the roads everywhere else are subject to change.

I have also made a Wiki article for the city, if you want to read it.
