I’ve been trying to be more original with my parodies lately, to try and make them have a humorous reference quality to them but still feel somewhat fitting for the OGF world.
One thing I’ve tried is making references to things that don’t exactly relate to the object doing the referencing.
One such example is Crazy Crunch, a popular cereal in Freedemia.
You might get the reference from the box.
If you don’t you’ll definitely get it from the jingle.
While there is a List of Airlines wiki page to help users “get an idea of route coverage and hubs,” it looks like the number of airlines has grown far too large to navigate comfortably.
Some airlines have listed destinations and flight frequencies on their respective pages, but there is no unified format or single location where one can find this information. What do you guys think of having a computerized database of airports/airlines with destinations and flight frequencies? With all the data in one system, flight schedules could be generated automatically and flight durations could be calculated pretty easily from airport coordinates.
I’ve also seen a lot of users seeking destinations for their airline or airlines to serve their airport. Perhaps with a better system, we could streamline this process and allow airlines/airports to serve dozens or hundreds of destinations instead of being subject to the chances of whoever replies to the post.
I think this should be pretty simple to code and host on a third-party server… I am just wondering if people are willing to use such a tool. What do you think?
I think I just found another update gap where mobile users don’t see the edit tab so they cannot edit anything.
Hi. Just would like to know, besides Agarderia and Singkangia, are there other socialist, communist, communist-controlled or communist-influenced countries and states historically? The OGF:Global Collaboration is slightly useful but not clear enough, and some may not have included their countries. I thought of setting up an international organisation for former communist states and still communist states.
The purpose of the organisation (yet to be named) is to finance poverty stricken communist states by providing subsidies for them, depending on how the money was used (for instance money used to build homes or restabilise economy, not for military warfare like how China fund North Korea for their nuclear missle programme), accelerate social progress for still communist states, and cultural development. Additionally, it is to promote peace and stability with each other, whether formally communist or not. Lastly, it is to promote effective collaboration between communist states and other non-communist states (including former communist states) and mutual assistance on matters of common interest. And of course, to maintain close, beneficial co-operation with existing international organisations with similar aims and purposes. (This is just a general idea and may be discussed. By the way, this is not overwikification (yet))
By the way it may also include dictator-rule, a country which has a state under communist rule (before or now) or sometimes anarchies, but Commonia or West Commonia is not invitied. Also, if there were less than eight communist states then the idea can blow over.
Would anybody be interested in collaborating with me on historical events between our nations? Things like conflicts, relief efforts, trades, etc.
The collaboration would mostly be on the wiki but can also take place in OGF proper, with things like embassies and the like.
I might as well kick off my diary with a topic that interests me - highway shields.
I’d like to add pictures of them into my road articles because they look so much nicer than basic text, but this would require quite a few shields. I don’t plan on adding them all (since all ten of Vodeo’s provinces have their own highways as well as the national M/A/B/C roads), but just the main M/A/B/C highways and important provincial highways. Is this allowed, or do bandwidth constraints mean we have to keep them to a minimum? Obviously I don’t mean full 1000px pictures, but just small 25 or 50-pixel ones. I notice that Gobrassanya has quite a few, which is why I’d like to add some of my own in.
tl;dr Par wants to add pictures with numbers in them, is it allowed?

I get a whole bunch of crossing ways errors whenever I sync with OGF. Is this something to worry about?
Hey all, happy May. White Rabbit. I’m writing up a Diary Entry tonight with the hope that this May, I can do something different.
I need a break from working on the Bengali inspired Tierajas-Verdes, just to like…refresh. Come back to it with fresh eyes, fresh ideas, a renewed sense of motivation. Not to say motivation is gone, I love working on Tierajas-Verdes, I’d just like a change.
Which is why I come to you…I have 3 options on the table as I see fit. Solo, Community, Collaboration. I’ll go through each separately;
So…I’ve been concidering the case of BMSOUZA and a few others I can’t name off the top of my head, in that they have multiple countries of…varying differences. In my last Bliki (Here), I mentioned that I was considering options for the relatively TINY TA113c. And whilst, it is appealing to once again build…EVEN SMALLER on this level in terms of size of a country. And it gives an opportunity for a Mediterranean style project of that of Greece, Malta, Cyprus etc. I’m also drawn to the idea of what is currently The Holy Cross and reforming it into something different and more akin politically to a modern version of the old Papal States (?)…sorta a Religious Federation.
What I have been feeling conflicted with, is if this is technically allowed? If I can have a second state if I feel like my first is progressing quite nicely at a steady rate. And as said, gives me a different style to work on for coming back to Tierajas-Verdes, I can have fresher eyes.
I need answers to these questions, otherwise i will never achieve what i would want to with Litvania. Whenever i search it up there are little helpful results.
How do we (can we even?) draw lines at only 90° and 45° angles? In Inkscape it is Shift.
How do we accurately plan scaling? Like how can i draw my drawing at an appropriate scale on paper, and make sure it works here.
How do people draw things like this, and when i draw an plan and then trace, i end up with this.
Love the new route generator, which shows the gaps in the international roads network in sometimes quite dramatic fashion. Have a look at the distance between the Utterland town of Luikenberg and the Isztiarnorszag town of Szarvasko. Approximately 150 km as the crow flies, but an eye-watering 2080 km by road. Do I advocate linking our countries’ road networks? Depends how everybody feels about that.

As you may have noticed, my country Drabantia has undergone some serious changes during the past month. Perhaps one of the biggest changes was that the country now has a completely different, new capital city, Odrava.
And while I am really happy with how the city looks so far, it also caused some trouble. Especially for international businesses and airlines that used to serve the old capital, Drahns. However I removed most of the wiki references and stuff, so at this moment, this should be only Litvanka Airlines. I’m sorry for causing trouble.
Speaking of airlines, you’re more than welcome to list Odrava as a destination for your airline company. The most exciting thing is that the city is not on the tip of a peninsula like the previous one was.
Also, siblings are always fun! (I’m an only child.) By which I mean sibling cities are also sought after! Most preferably Ulethan cities, but others too, I don’t discriminate.
I updated the wiki page for Drabantia and Odrava, so you can check them if you wanted to get to know more. I also now have a weekly bliki, where I post even more backstories and thoughts.
PS: Is there anyone who wouldn’t mind helping me with drawing the airport in Odrava? I guess I could do it myself, but it definitely wouldn’t come out as amazingly amazing as some airports by other users.

I didn’t have a very hard time letting go. However I still think at least some parts of Drahns were quality mapping- that’s why I didn’t delete them yet. I was thinking maybe there is a collaborative country the bits could be moved into? They’re very European-looking, so it should probably be Uletha.
So, if anyone is interested in any of the stuff shown here, just leave a comment.

Like adding a shipping line from Gossabranya to Commonia
Hi everyone:
I have been furthering my work on Plowford but I have noticed that the road system in central and northern Plowford looks a bit…off. I’m not exactly sure how to describe it but it doesn’t look right. Any suggestions on what to do? Bear in mind that I have only mapped the main roads and the preexisting roads. Roads built during urbanisation have not been included.
If you can give me any advice on what you think is wrong, please tell me below. Any other queries or suggestions are welcome!

I wrote a small guide how to create tables and lists in the wiki from map data (if it was unknown). Using the ‘external data’ toolbox makes it very simple to keep the wiki up to date.

Well, the last few months was just me setting up my country, now it’s time to put it in action.

I was wondering if there is an OGF alternative to the ISO 3166-1 ALPHA2? So far i only discovered this, but that’s only for languages. I think we need something like that, especially because otherwise one short code gets assigned to multiple countries, which would be quite unfortunate… My main reason for this inquiry is the fact that i want to try something out regarding the routing, but i want to implement it the right, non-bodged way and therefor need an unique country code.

Because of the ongoing update problems, there needs to be another (shorter) downtime today. Starting at 20:00 UTC, the API database will be in read-only mode for ca. 1 hour. Afterwards, there might be some interruptions with tile rendering and the Overpass API. The wiki will work as usual.
