Hi! New mapper here. I’ve loved making hand drawn fictional maps for a long time, but have never touched any software like this. I’m trying to put a nice coastal city in West Commonia, a bit south of Damon’s City. So I start drawing a nice looking harbor, and tagged it as coastline. The problem is that I don’t know how to integrate my harbor with the already existing coastline. How do you guys do it? EDIT: Note I have not uploaded this to the main map yet.

Hi everybody,
Do you know if there is a plugin for JOSM that would allow you to continue a line automatically around an already existing polygon so long as it does not encounter an existing double-point (a point that connects several lines / surfaces between them)? Instead of manually connecting each point, it would save a lot of time. Just a little question like that … ^^
Bye, Clément
The wiki experienced errors. I hope the admins knew about this.
How to make parliamentary seats svg images?
After a period improving Kirchenburg map, I go back to design staff. I started with the medals design, but i wanna design all the things related to the Geolympiad.
Right now I’m working with the podium and medals ceremony items and costumes. Working on the mascot, and the sports pictograms, and planning the design for tickets, torch, maps of the geolympiad city, etc.
Whenever i get tired, i go back to mapping haha.
The medals are inspired by the logo. Both of them take the image of the red shell, a national symbol of Welstand-Westrijk, so related to its medieval history and in some ways, with the Vinnic league. I saw some of you asked for sponsorship in the geolympiad. Its great to see that you want to be part of this too, but I’ll wait for the official election of Kirchenburg for that kind of things.
Lets make the Vinnic games happen! (again considering Tarott 2008 haha)
What you think about the medals?
Aw! And don’t forget to vote :D
Apparently by Luciano and I have to say I’ve never seen anything like that. Just thought it would be cool to share.
Hello everyone!
Last week I’ve seen various creations for the weekly word. I really like this challenge :)
For this week I’ve selected the word:
CANDY
I’m very curious about what you will make with this word. Post your creations in the comments!
Niels
Thanks for the comments in my previous diary entry. I did try to do the things that you all commented. I zoomed in all the way but I still can’t find the edit button for some reason…
Copying/pasting others’ mapping, without their permission, has always been against the spirit of our site rules, “Be original” and “Be respectful.”
From today forward, copying other users’ mapping is also explicitly against the rules: “No copying others’ mapping, without their permission.”
If our multilingual users can take a moment to add this to the translations of the rules, under the “Be original” header, it would be much appreciated.
I think now is the summer holidays and I wonder whether to write a travel journal for a trip around the OGF world. This is when both mapping and wiki comes together, a moving map from a traveler’s perspective. (I actually hoped for a book about OGF)
I planned that the route for the journey around the mapped continents: Uletha-Archanta-Antarephia-Tarephia and back. Of course, the journey is through mapped countries, so any mapper can be part of the editors of the travel journal. This journal includes countries’ places of interest. There can be information about the places visited, and include airlines taken, transportation used, culture of the place, what event was happening in the country during a journey, people met etc.I have seen travel journals online and thought of creating one in the OGF world with everyone’s help. By the way, as the world keeps changing, the journal can change too! Check the link!
Places of interest :
Do not be disheartened if your country is not listed! This list is incomplete. I still need more planning of the trip, so discussions can come about the route. I have not explored the OGF world enough yet.
Northwest Uletha (10+ days) : Ingerland (and Mycria)- Sandmark- Kingdom of Pretany (and the PFS)
Central Uletha (1 week): Litavania (and Drabantia)- Escadia?- Midstland- Antharia
South Uletha (2 weeks): Gobrassanya- Khaiwoon- Niulutan-Riu- Lallemand
East Uletha and Axian Penisula (3 weeks or so): Karolia- Dracodia- Glaster (and Agarderia and Wyster)- Mergany (and Eshein)- Belphenia- Kojo- Hoppon- Wiwaxia- Pasundan-Pajadjaran
Archanta (2 weeks): Commonia (and West Commonia) (Note: only a brief visit- too chaotic to stay for long)- Rhododactylia- Unesia?- Develti? (and Omniville?)- Neo Delta- Zylanda- Yuris- Mecyna (and Ismikk?)- Elhadia- Drull- Balonis- Ardisphere
Antarephia and Tarephia: Yet to be confirmed, though Mahhal, Meilan and Latina? (Udzdanart not considered- unsafe and not to visit, no visas there)
For some reason, I can’t edit in OGF. I was able to edit before, but now I cannot. I need some help, and I really want to start editing again after a break.
Thanks.
I just started mapping like two weeks ago and for some reason there were second level regions in my country (Monte Dorado) that I haven’t been able to figure out how to completely delete.
They don’t seem to show up on the map anymore, but they are still visible in JOSM which causes me a headache when trying to plan the new internal borders. For example, you can see two of them in JOSM at 33.39 S 40.92 E. Whenever I try to delete these (and other internal borders) JOSM throws a few errors and refuses to upload the change.
I have Build the “Stadtschloss” (Citycastle”) , but the yards inside the Building are not displayed. But what did I do wrong?
Thank you for help guys
I have opened a discussion on the geologic time scale of the OGF world. Whilst I suspect we would all like to keep things better similar to the real world, I think there is some scope for us to have some fun and creativity in this area.
If you study geology, or just have a keen interest, this might be fun for you.

I need someone to detail the natural features (mountains, forests, rivers, &c.) as well as cities and towns/villages in Omniville
Please message/PM me if you would like to detail them.
As my larger neighbour city, Nuevo Espiritu, was a ghost town of less than half a dozen of roads until now, I have taken up plans to adopt the area. If any user feels it was or is ‘his’ turf, please say so - there was no development for over 6 months, so I took the liberty…
I started by giving Nuevo Espiritu a well-deserved train station, and then a station square, and then a small tram line which grew into a somewhat larger tram line and… You probably all know all too well where that ends. So in the end I will ‘do’ the whole area, and do it as good as I can.
‘Old’ Espiritu, the small settlement on the eastern cape, is supposed to have grown around the old castle, conveniently commandeering the entry to the bay. It is supposed to be your ancient village, small streets and alleyways, probably good tourism potential. I have thrown in a pair of nice beaches for the locals.
Nuevo Espiritu, connected to the old village by tram line T11, has grown into a medium-sized harbour city, thanks to a protected site in the bay. (lagoon ?) It has good potential for a lot of interesting stuff. I have given it 2 tram lines already, next comes the harbour area and detailing of the city center. Later the suburbs will follow (relatively dull work). In the end I might give it a small airport at the western part of town.
One question about tramway planning: I have seen that in 2 of the largest transit systems (Kaiwoon and Latina) the tram tracks are mostly laid besides the road in what looks to be on the sidewalk / pavement. I there a reason for this ? I have - so far - put the tracks either in the street itself (traditional street track) or on reservation in the median strip of larger two-lane boulevards or besides the road. That looked more prototypical to me.
Any idea’s / suggestions wellcome.
Marcello.
Hey everyone!
So, everyone seems to be doing a whole bunch of challenges, so I thought I would start one of my own: The Coffee Shop!
Typically, coffee shops are places where people come together and share things with each other, so that is what I am going for on this project. Every week, there will be a new challenge. This will be posted every Monday or Tuesday. Challenges may range from a wikipage to a mapping challenge, so grab your thinking caps!
Alright, here is this week’s challenge: Map something that represents something your country values the most.
Get creative! I can’t wait to view them!
PS: Please put the coordinates to the thing you map in the comments section, so that I may look at them.
Happy Mapping! -Geoboi
Hello everyone!
It appeared most people liked the Weekly Word concept, so here’s a new one!
This week’s word is:
AIR
Let’s see what you can do with the word. Share your creations in the comments!

The more I try to make a proper train station, the more frustrated I get. I cant seem to get the spacing correct on the rails enterong and exiting the yards. This is the 4th rebuild of this station and Im about to pull my hair out. Lol any ideas? It’s been a process of “Squeeze tighter, add a platform, repeat” but it still has too many spaces between the rails.
Are there any places to look at so that I can get a sense of scale for my nation? I’m going to try and make it realistic.
