I’m returning to the OGF community. I’m hoping to get back by former country of Mariana (UL212). I do have some new ideas for the country, and want to have diplomatic times with other countries/more activity.

What does the peopling of the OGF World look like? where were the earliest Human settlements? When was Uletha populated with Humans? Archanta? e.c.t

edit. I presume that Archanta is similar to the Americas and was settled much later, it was just an example, i was wanting background of all the continents to figure out the broader picture of how the ogf world was settled.

A blue nation in the FSA would be great for new mappers who come from the United States to map out their cities before they get a nation. It would make the cancerous mapping go to someplace more suitable for it. It is a great place to start mapping if someone loves to place highways everywhere. Plus it would be more realistic considering the FSA is the OGF equivalent of the United States.

I’ve been mapping my territory for around a year now and I’ve been mainly focusing on my capital (which still has no name at the moment) and a small region bordering a neighbour and the ocean. I’d like to know your thoughts about my mapping.

For the moment I haven’t finished outlining all the main ideas I have for my capital city so I’m mainly asking about the small region I was talking about. I’ve outlined more or less how the things should be in this region and now the next step would be adding more and more details. I’d like to know everyone’s thoughts and ideas about it. (You can still tell me stuff about my capital city, but as I’m making major changes every 2 months or so because of a changing vision, it’s not the main topic here)

After a year-long hiatus, I have finally come back to OGF.

Things I plan to do in the near future:

1. Keep working on Vertbourne (In baby steps)
2. Keep attempting to get a territory, preferably very small and isolated.

Right now, there is a lot of turmoil between countries (not in the community in general), and there is a need for an alliance, like IRL Nato, or Warsaw Pact (pre-1991). This can create more stability and protect smaller countries with smaller economies (My landmass is small, but i have a large and stable economy - so i am not a “small country with a small economy”)

If this is a good idea, then we could create an alliance!

Ulethan Military Pact, Ulethan Pact, Ulethan Pact for Democracy, Ulethan Imper- ahem, Worldwide Peace Union, Assembly of Nations Peacekeeping Alliance etc. These names can probably suit the purpose of the pact.

Communism? Theocracy (yum)? Democracy? Anarchy? Monarchy? You name it, an alliance also needs an ideology, a way of thought.

Do you think it is a good idea to make a north-south international highway? We will of course need the permission from other countries to build a highway through their country, and it will be their choice where to make it go. We need to make this motorway have a realistic path (Obviously to save money). This has been done in real life before, like the pan-American highway. I feel like we should stretch North first, with Marvin, Oketia being the hub for the highway, seperating the south and north highway.

I will not do this unless it is supported. I know this is a huge project in terms of roads. I don’t want to destroy the realism of countries, so it is crucial we give it the correct path and it goes through the best cities. What are your thoughts?

My quick apologies to people I haven’t responded to and the relative lack of mapping in the last month or so. It’s been a rough semester and I’ve had less time and energy to devote to OGF than I personally would like. I’ll try to get back to people soon.

The problem is that the ministry of Foreign Affairs isn’t able to tell what should be done to become a member, who should be asked and what the exact conditions are. Hello everybody

I have already got my own country (San Marcos), and I’d like to propose you all a proyect. I have already asked nother user to make this proyect with me, but he’s very bussy, so I decided to post it in the user diaries.

I’d like to create a situation like actual Macedonia. A country and a region of another country (San Marcos) that have the same origin, and I think that it would be nice if the language could be a little different, not English, Spanish or other very used languages.

Why are they divided? Well, the history is like Carolingian Empire. It was a kingdom, and there was a king who divided it between his 2 children, and one of these parts became a part of San Marcos.

The flag are exactly the same, but the background changes, like in real Macedonia.

In adittion, the names of cities and villages of my part of Barte (this name is not deffinitive) would have an origin in the language of South Barte. For example, you can see that in my real region, Andalusia. Here, hardly every name of villages and cities have an arabic origin. An example is my village, Canillas de Aceituno, where Aceituno is an addaptation of the arabic word زيتوني /zaytuni/, meaning olive.

Hello everyone, I am a new player so I have a question. Do you need permission to turn a place into a National/Provincial park? I would like to turn the Great Ridge Forest and Mount Olympus into some sort of park.

I have a new territory, and I’m moving old San Marcos to the new country.

The problem is that there are a lot of conflicts, and I have expended 2 hours and it looks like it will never finish

Hello everyone,

I am so glad to be back home. I have just finished galavanting in London, Paris, and the Loire Valley in France for two weeks. The trip taught me so many valuable lessons, and inspired me to map again. Around every corner, there was a beautiful view waiting for me. I am so grateful to have gone on that trip, and I’m glad to be home. I’m never gonna forget this.

Going to the Loire Valley was extremely helpful for my mapping because I actually got to see and spend time in a SMALL town. I got to understand the way of life, where everyone knows everyone, and I think I finally understand how to map rural areas!

What happens if you feel like you can’t do the best of your skills and creativity in the territory you have , but the territory you prefer is for advanced users?

So, I’ve been requesting UL082. I know for a fact it’s not taken, as it says the owner is admin, but whenever I message the general admin for a territory, I never get anything in return. Not even a letter saying it’s taken or that it’s currently requested by multiple users. Can anybody help? (Note: I’ve been requesting since my account was 1 week old)
