So, I am new to OGF. I did a little bit of mapping in Commonia, and I am accepting suggestions for names for the country that I am planning. Remember- the country I am planning speaks Gaerman and has a climate like New York.

I had been so much sad cause of cancellation my law lesson however I returned my home town at an early time so I had a bit of time for mapping in my country.
Today I assambled my railroads and I constructed new roads, railroads builds and somethings :)
Tomorrow I’ll try to working about some cities Penimah,Haderah,Tadilah and Homiyah…
Do you know that I inspired my towns or cities names from Hebrew and Arabic :)
Already some people can understand Kadimah,Penimah and Homiyah are from Hatikvah…
That’s all for now,in future time I’ll synthesize Hebrew and Arabic languages, cultures and their modern life styles.
BTW I’ll give name to great river (on the left great river) that name will be Zionminah..
GOOD-BYE MAPPERS!
I feel like it’s a bit featureless, but I don’t want to be super dense as in this. Is this sketch good? How should I draw curves? Should I cut the forest into several parts? Am I integrated enough with my neighbour?
No stress. I’m not in a hurry.
So, i’ve barely been 3 days (ish) on this site and i’ve been having alot of fun mapping around. I’ve grabbed some inspiration from other people’s cities, albeit, most of what i build are small towns like the ones you would see where i live.
I would enjoy it if you could give me some feedback on the two towns and the roads that connect them that i’ve built (I would also enjoy some feedback on the highway infrastructure i’ve built, you can find it as “N3 Norte/Sur”)
Thanks in advance, Nick Rod. P.S: How many racetracks are there in this world? IMO i think i’m the only one who added one) Edit: I’ve been notified by some really nice people about some racetracks around here, so yeah.
Hey guys come on don’t be rude we are here to be happy mapping, you know, and we all can learn of our mistakes don’t be rude because this is a friendly community
(go and see my village: Andalúzida and tell what you thing without being rude but being polite)
Hey!
As some of you may know, my country Řots in the southern part of Archanta (Astrasia) is a split society: the normal people live their own normal modern every day lives, whereas the country’s royal family and the (higher) nobility follow the more than 1200 year old Codex (a fixed set of protocols) which essentially keeps them in medieval times and in recent centuries has estranged them from the rest of the country. At first the people lived by their conservative rule, but when Řots lost a large part of their territory due to the arrival of colonial powers in the 17th century (e.g. Florescentians, Ingrish in what are now the South Astrasian Federation and Karvaland), some educated inhabitants of Řots saw that the country couldn’t develop they way they thought it should, and when it turned out to be impossible to convince the nobility to abandon or even modify the Codex, people started to just ignore the Codex, which proved to be okay for the royal family and the rest of the nobility. Since that moment, the royal household has remained located near the original ‘Royal Capital of Řots’, the city of Kotōlets, whereas the modern government operates from Nekkar. Nowadays only the prime minister has a more intimate knowledge of the King, his family, and their daily actions, but he or she knows only what the King wants him to know - which is not very much indeed, as not even the prime minister knows e.g. who is currently next in line to succeed the King when he dies.
I am fairly new to OpenGeoFiction, having created an account here last month. I had attempted to start a town off of a highway within 24 hours of joining, but realised I was not all that experienced with making towns and cities in OpenGeoFiction, so I decided to make some tests and try out stuff without saving it to the map for all to see, and started thinking about a smaller town idea I could easily make. Recently I created the town of Galentia as my first town I a fully creating, located off of West Central Expressway I-101 in Commonia, designed to be a stop along the highway/motorway on long routes, where you can get gas, food or even stay the night at a hotel. I built it along the motorway West Central Expressway I-101 seeing that a super long stretch of it was empty, had no gas stations along it, or even any population at all. I built it a little ways from the city of Celemberra so that if this were real life, there’d be cars actually consistantly using the nearby motorway and there’d be many people who’d stop in the town of Galentia. The town of Galentia also has some houses and a small population, although is mainly built as a stop for long routes along the nearby motorway. The town of Galentia is currently only being based on my experiences stopping along the highway in the various parts of the USA (I visit family for Thanksgiving on the east coast each year and drive a few hours from the airport to the beach, I live in Western Colorado and drive a few hours to Denver multiple times a year, occasionaly make other long drives throughout the country and in a lot of the drives final destinations I’ve stayed in hotels that are there) to small towns thats main offerings are services that would be mainly used by people who stop off of the highway.
Sometimes when I was bored without a computer to do any mapping, I would plunge into other user’s diary entries (pardon for prying into those) to dig up at least some things which happened in OGF before I came into OGF.
I decided to compile all of such ‘significant’ events’ in OGF here, along with the supporting diary entries (the dates may be inaccurate).

This year (2018) will be OGF’s 5th anniversary. If there could be a suitable time for the grand opening of the western continents and/or AR120, it could be on 01/09/18. Anyway, I can’t believe OGF is turning 5 this year, and I hope for something special to happen this year.
Anyway, it is still slightly too early to take about OGF 2023. But I think we should soon think about the future of OGF soon.
I started a draft organization called IBA and I collected all the existing TV/Radio call signs. I’m looking forward to establish a standard in call signs of various stations. Though this is not mapping-related, call sign should be taken into consideration when naming HQ buildings for stations.
If a new organization is too much, I might merge it into AN-affiliated ITA.
Any suggestions?

I was wondering if this can be done and is realistic.
Also if i can move my boundaries of my country to “Adjust to islands”.
Also i have JOSM if you ask…
Edited: Why it still says “Seysia”? How i can remove that?
So yeah, I’ve got to the point where Monmouth is pretty large and it’s got enough suburbs. And Hareby hasn’t got that much space left, either. So, I might as well open it to you lot, since pretty much all of you are much more experienced and overall better than me at this stuff. So, what should I do with Monmouth? Please be specific, telling me to ‘put in more detail’ doesn’t quite tell me what I should do, more what you want to happen over a long amount of time.
Hello to the OGF World!
I read in some of the history books how Maria Theresa, queen of Austria, Hungary, Croatia and Bohemia, after some land were liberated from the ottoman rule decided to freely give large parts of land to the peasants from all around her kingdoms. So I decided to do something similar. ;)
As I noticed that as I’m mapping I start to repeat the same schema everywhere. So to introduce some diversity I’ll give a possibility to the everyone here to map some lands of my country. As my way of the mapping is largely historical - I start some town in the medieval ages and develop it modifying, changing, adapting urban elements to the new centuries - so we are going to do it that way :
imagine you’re somewhere between 1200 - 1800, and you were given the opportunity to take some land, in the countryside or inside some town, and map whatever you want : some family farm, manufacture, family countryside villa, shrine, college, etc. and name it - and it will be integrated in my work - i’ll develop it and it might become: town, protected historical heritage …
*Explore little bit my country : http://opengeofiction.net/#map=9/-45.4438/36.5323
*Explore the topography: http://wiki.opengeofiction.net/wiki/images/f/fc/TOPO_map_of_Montran.png
*the north of the country is reserved for French, west for Danish and rest for English
*the north is Switzerland-Austria like, south-west Tuscany like, and the rest: north France, north Germany, south England, Benelux like.
*be creative, be free, map wherever you want, do not delete existing elements and good luck!
*no permissions needed
I hope you will be generous ;)
A month ago I was doing random things around Commonia, West Commonia… But now that I’m back I started a new little village that is called Andalúzida. Please go and tell me what do you think of it
Anyone know what happened to the cities of West Montague Shores, Valarauco and Valicia in Gobrassanya??
So, yeah, I’m back doing random stuff in Commonia. This place called Monmouth, to be precise. If you go to New Commonia now, you’ll find Monmouth is probably one of the main settlements there. I’ll go through the suburbs first, largest to smallest. Hareby is a small city / large town to the east of Monmouth Proper, and is probably about half the size of Monmouth. It lies entirely within the district, though a few of the houses are just metres from the city border with the District of Springwood, and has it’s own castle and services on the M607. Parkwood (and Holton) is a small town in the / to the north of Monmouth, and is right next to the reservoir and local beauty spot. It lies entirely within the district, and is a fair way away from the border, the closest near Randen and Lleaby. It also encompasses the borough of Holton, a small-ish area in the north of the town. Mountainside is a small town / large village to the north / north east of Monmouth, and is near the intersection of the M67, M607 and M602. It lies just south of the regional park, and is near the very middle of the district, the nearest border being all the way over in Randen. Parkway is a small village / borough in the west of Monmouth, swallowed by the city. It is near the actual road called the Parkway, and can be reached easily by both inner and outer ring roads. It has two schools and a housing estate. Randen is a small village to the north-west of Monmouth, right next to the outer border. It is near the M607’s NW corner, and the regional park. It is scaled horribly, but is near a farm and has a duel carriageway to both the Cape Highway in the west, and Mountainside and inevitably the M67 to the east.

Fellow mappers,
(Last updated on 12 April 2018)
I made a bus line to integrate nearby settlements to the village Dardis Heights (a settlement I am developing) better in order to be more connected with nearby settlements.
There is a local service and an express service for this bus line because urban resident s are unlikely to visit rural settlements but are likely to visit other urban areas to work or to spend their time in.
Currently, I have numbered these bus lines 1 and 1X (X indicating express service) as I plan to make a few more bus lines in the future. I have noticed that the bus line also runs on the road SS1, which is a nice coincidence and made me consider if numbering the bus lines to the road it travels on is a good idea or not.
It would be appreciated if you have any constructive suggestions and criticisms regarding this topic and my ideas (above and below). Moreover, if you notice any mistakes, typos and errors in my writing please reply to notify/correct me.
I thank you for your time and attention,
– TCC
Future Bus Route Ideas
I have a few ideas on the routes of future bus lines, including a long route that roughly follows the coasts, but often detouring on and off of the main motorway (M1) to serve settlements nearby.
Another idea is a route from Omoriworth (considering terminus) heading northwest until it turns right and follows RNR 132, then follows RNR 108, OA1, RNR 10 all the way north to Rose City or even to Querryville (also considering terminus). Here I would have a numbering problem if I was to number it corresponding to the road it travels on and so I want some feedback on this numbering idea.
I thought that I’d try and make my first train map for my town, St. Botolph.
Hey everyone,
this is a semi-survey sort of diary entry where I’m trying to figure some stuff out. My question for everyone is how you guys go about making detailed mountain ranges (landuse layers to make it look realistic, number of nodes, node placement, etc.). I really hope you can all help. Comments are much appreciated!!!
Cheers, Geoboi
Each neighbourhood of the city of Edetanea, in Castilea Archantea has an organised group of people, the Casalea fallerea, that works all year long holding fundraising parties and dinners. Each casalea fallerea produces a construction known as a fallea which is eventually burnt. A casalea fallerea is also known as a comissió fallerea and currently there are approximately 500 registered in Edetanea. The Edetanea Fire Festival will take place on March, when the Old Town of Edetanea will be insanely fine detailed. I’ll look forward to your visit! Happy mapping!
