Earlier i noticed another user has designed a fort on the shore of Gobras City northeast of downtown that despite the coastline having been edited, these edits have not shown up after several days. I have even attempted to look at this coastline section to see if there was something missing in the attributes preventing it from updating. The coastline is contiguous with the other sections and is in the proper way direction. Is their some form of coastline update protection in place that is preventing this section of coastline data from being updated. .

I am now being prompted to get a token through OAUTH to upload data to OGF from JOSM

Boundary Protected Area is not rendering on OGF standard map layer orthe Histor map layer. is there a way to add this so that these boundaries will render properly. Otherwise there is no other way to designate a indian reservation. What about other boundary tiypes like National Parks, Political, etc.

Are there safeguards in place to prevent innundations? I am wondering if coastline modifications should be moderated to prevent this.

City boundaries (level 8) are no longer rendering on the map views. Just wondering why they have dissappeared. only the city name displays in a few places along the boundary line

One of the most annoying issues I encounter in creating cities is that there is no easy way to connect ways at intersections where they overlap with a node. I am using JOSM. I am required to go back and connect these ways with nodes manually one at a time. a very painstaking and extremely time consuming process that can take hours when I would much rather be expanding my city or coming up with street names, buildings and more. I have tried to use the Grid building option in JOSM but it does not work as I would like it to. It does not create a regualr grid of connected nodes that can easily be converted to streets. Nor is there a way though the validation process or any other means I have been able to find where it is possible to connect a whole series of nodes. Has anyone found a way to connect the nodes intheir downtown grids without having to individually connect each intersection.

Its very frustrating

It seems there are some new Islands known as “”"”XIAMO”””” that have mysteriously appeared on the globe but are not anywhere on the overview map. Are these part of the large COMMONIA territory or are they a new country founded by another OGF user.

Additionally it seems that there is a new country ‘’’’’'’KHATULISTIWA’’’’’’’ that was carved out of the COMMONIA territory as well. This will probably also need to be updated on the overview map as well.

As far as adding land areas. What is the overall policy on doing this in OGF.. I was under the assumption that we could modify our coastlines (within reason) and that to modify boundaries with neighoring country areas that we need to collaborate with our neighbor. If we want new territory that we should email and apply to have it assigned to us. But as far as creating new terriroty out of the sea without approval, I assumed this was not allowed since the land masses have been set in place. Do new land masses need to go through a moderator approval before they can be done?

It seems that people are not using the diaries as a source for discussion pages as much as before. Maybe we need to look into starting a forum similar to AARoads forum [ http://www.aaroads.com/forum/ ] to facilitate such development discussion in an area that is not appropriate for discussion in the wiki or in these diary pages. Simple Machines is a good forum engine.

 Street Grid

The entire city including Streets and avenues have been redeveloped to a mile grid system with 16 blocks per mile (330 feet by 330 feet) (bacically a 1.6km X 1.6km grid with approx. 100m X 100m blocks). Development of the city will continue out towards the airport and along the Gulf Shore. adherence to the grid can be looser the further away from the city center that the city grows.

Major Districts

In addition a new seaport was built to the east of the city, along with a major industrial area just to the west of the seaport. Railways are to be connected to the rest of the network.

Another Industrial District will be built near the airport and also to the west of the Downtown area.

The capitol area has also been constructed

A major commercial district ( Mall, Shopping centers, Retail Big Box) is planned for the area immediately adjacent to Lawrence Parkway and A-602

Airports

The airport has been appropriately sized down to a smaller footprint and 5 runways instead of 6 but maintains the overall layout of the original airport. It is still quite a bit oversized comparative to the size of the city it serves but could be considered a major hub airport for Northern Gobrassanya.

 Motorways and Major Highways

Motorways have also been overhauled as well… A-2 serves the Gulf Front and Downtown.

A-602 (loop - partially completed) connects to the middle of the city.

A-35 was extended northward

A-135 (Airport Link)

A proposal for a new motorway to the weest of the city s also in the works but will be added as development occurs to the west. Recommend using a NP-XX designation for any additional motorways

Assistance is needed in further development of the city If anyone wants to add new neighborhoods. Especially south of A-602 and to the East of A-35 and in developing a mass transit system

Motorway A-2 (and Primary route 2) have been extended out to Queensboro and will be the new western terminus of A-2

This city needs some major development as well. Since it is the capital city of the district it needs a Capitol. Also it is the twin city to Malinton AV (Alora) and should be about the same size

Just checking to see if there is any consensus on the idea of renaming the Harley District to a more appropriate Gobrassian sounding name or should we leave it as is.

Here are some important notes regarding roadway design.

Motorways, Freeways, Auto-routes, and the like are dual carriage-ways and both directions of the motorway should be drawn.

streets should be “connected” at intersections. many new cities show them simply overlapped. if it crosses and is not a grade separation (aka bridge tunnel) it should be connected at that point with a node.

If you desire you can add traffic signals to your intersections.

Bridges should not be unnecessarily long. and make sure to place it on the appropriate layer (such as Layer = 1) or where two bridges cross. Layer 1 and Layer 2 for the second bridge that is higher. 3, 4, 5, etc. same thing with tunnels and subways (layer = -1)

I am sure there are more pointers but these are a few to start.

As before Grand lake is open for all creative additions I am especially trying to develop areas north of the city so any one who wants to may make their contributions there. Also south Shore is another area that was recently started by another mapper. looks nice. hope to see more activity there as well.

In addition I will open up the Gallaton City area for minor updates and changes if you would like even though it is part of my territory. please feel free to add any buildings or help construct neighborhoods since it is part of the greater Grand Lake and Gallaton International Metroplex.

A new auto-route numbers as a-140 this does not conform to the numbering schema of the region. it may better to number it as A-114 instead since it is a looping spur. and is connecting A-14

A-140 would actually be a spur from A-40

In addition a new auto-route had been constructed into Arrowic but had not been completed … I completed the interchange. it is possible to extend A-56 northward to travel along the southern portion of AW-14 since it creates a duplicate route number. … please discuss.

with 4 major airports located within a 50 mile swath t is recommended that once the Kenrich international airport is completed that the Pembrook airport become an executive or municipal airport since it is just a few miles from the Kenrich airport and 25 miles from the Carratta airport and also within a short distance of the Puerto Geo airport.

Also I have begun construction of a new bypass of Kenrich metro A 409 which will connect the carratta raegion Kenrich and Pembrook to the new airport.

Additionaly when drawing city streets the nodes should be connected at each intersection any of them are not connected and simply overalap.

I also added some interchanges along the A-9 dual freeway and upgraded a parkway for better service to downtown Kenrich
