So, I was inspired by Deltanz’ Golden Delta Film Awards to write a wiki article about Wiwaxia’s entry in the awards. Despite my serious lack of digital savvy, I made one feeble attempt in my sandbox at creating an infobox template for films. Not surprisingly, it failed. Any advice on creating infobox templates? Or someone else who knows how to do them want to create one like the Wikipedia wikipedia film infobox?

Hello all,
Just wanted to post my new Trambæn map which I’ve worked on today. It’s still something of a work in progress as I have not finished the city yet but I hope you like it.

Hey you guys,
Most of the time JOSM works just fine, but when I zoom in to a scale of a couple of meters, the programm becomes unbearably slow. At first I thought it had something to do with my laptop or perhaps the areas I downloaded, but then user BartleDuc contacted me, telling me he had the same problems when tried to zoom in to make a detailed train station. Yesterday I received a message from user azerty2935, who wondered why JOSM stopped working whenever he zoomed in on his Island nation, so it seems to be a common problem.
If have used JOSM in the past without any complications and I used high zoom a lot for the more detailed work in my towns and cities, also without any problems. These issues the three of us have are a recent thing, They have been bothering me for the last couple of weeks.
So I wondered if any of you experience the same difficulties when working with JOSM and if any of you have some good tips to solve these problems,
Thanks in advance,
TRJ
Hey, folks! I’m happy to share with you one of my first projects for Neo Delta since I started editing the country more than one year ago: finishing the mapping of the “landuse”.
As you can see in the picture below (or in this link http://i.imgur.com/pM8jOfI.png), I decided to cover the entire country with landuse options, as well as some natural, water and agricultural features. Although I understand that some people don’t really care about this aspect of mapping and if we check OpenStreetMap, we’ll see that a lot of it is plain white, that was something that always annoyed me (and now, at certain zoom levels, Neo Delta will be flood free!).
I’m pretty happy with the result, although now that I’m a more experienced user, I’d certainly would have done the same process in a whole different way, using more relations, for example. As for the next steps, I’m pretty sure I’ll change a lot of this landuse in the future, and there are plenty of small towns to create and buildings everywhere, but at least for now I have the feeling I finished a project for the first time on OGF and that makes me happy!
I’ll be even happier with suggestions and comments from you, people! :D
Hello, folks! I’ve been thinking about more cultural activities for our countries to be involved into, so I decided to create a film festival that will be hosted by Neo Delta, in the city of Ezajun, the capital of cinema in Neo Delta.
Each and every country is invited to submit up to 3 films of any type of genre. Submissions should be made by commenting is the comment section of this post and they will be taken into the future wiki page of the festival. The categories will include Best Film, Best Main Actress, Best Main Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects, Best Art Direction, Best Music, Best Animated Movie and Best Documentary.
The requirements are simple. Each submission should provide at least the name of the film and the genre (besides the country of origen). Of course other sort of information is welcome, and it will increase the chances that the film wins some of the categories.
The following are two examples with the minimum amount of information, and with the suggested information:
MINIMUM:
-
FILM: The Mountain of The Butterfly
-
GENRE: Drama
-
COUNTRY: Neo Delta
OPTIONAL:
-
FILM: Fire in the Woods
-
GENRE: Adventure
-
MAIN ACTOR: Mart Juteg-Lipe
-
MAIN ACTRESS: Sanna Huje-Bulao
-
SUPPORTING ACTOR: Sentin Karo-Gert
-
MUSIC: The Windows Never Close
-
DIRECTOR: Same Orahe-Tert
-
SYNOPSIS: A group of friends is lost is a jungle when they find ancient secrets that take them to a world of incredible adventures
-
COUNTRY: Neo Delta
I would personally encourage synopsis, so that we’d know more about your film! So, this is it, let me know what you think! Suggestions are more than welcome!
Anyone know whats up with that?
I was wondering if there is a possibility of an ‘international business directory’. I guess it would work similar to inviting others to build embassies in your nation.
I’m happy to announce that, starting today, OGF tile rendering runs on a separate server. Hopefully, this will positively affect application performance.
It also means that JOSM users need to adapt their imagery preferences, as described here:
Note that this applies only to the “Imagery preferences”. The “Connection settings” for API access remain as they are.
To ensure a smooth transition process, the tile rendering on the old server will remain enabled for the next few days, but expect it to be switched off in the near future.
Not much of a diary post, but I’m really curious about this. How often does the rendering software get updated? I see OSM has recently changed the allotments and playground texture and also the font spacing and face, so I’m just a little curious as to when we’re going to get it too. It’s not like I’m demanding it or something though.
I am normally not a bragger, but I don’t care this time. No shame. Damn am I proud of the beginning stages of that barrier island. I never could get my small coastline along the sound the way I wanted it. Now It’s coming together. I plan on really urbanizing the barrier islands between Brugge and Port Welsh over time. I wish there was an easier method for street placement. Im not a fan of the grid tool for European cities.
Any confirmed release date for the new continents?
Looks like Commonia is flooded. I think I caused it up on the NE Coast on the Northern Reagan border. I was trying to fix some of the issues there from earlier today. I though I had a file on file for the area but couldn’t find one.

But seriously though, what in the hell?
Hey you guys,
I found this interesting video on youtube about why some cities are considered beautiful and others ugly: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy4QjmKzF1c
Bonus: Why some countries are poor and others rich https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9-4V3HR696k
Hope this helps with creating beautiful and interesting cities and countries.
Enjoy!
Hello there. I’ve been not editing so much since I got so much problems with JOSM, principally with the conection, read time out, problems with the plugin, etc… This have made my editing more slow than I would like and I can. I’m waiting for the release of Linux Mint 18 KDE, hoping that a fresh and clean install of the OS could repair the problem with JOSM. I wanted to work with a topo map, with Aŭstrasuno Tero first, then the whole Great Southern Island (after agreeing and discussing with thermo_nuclear about Semer Republic, of course). But, then I got this problem with JOSM and I cannot keep editing the coastline, islands and another bigger physical features.
By the way, I may be working with the wiki info, wich doesn’t involve some much edition and is something pending.
When making ward boundaries (or county boundaries, etc. drawing the lines will not suffice. you need to create a relation that wraps around the entire ward, county, state, and add the lines to the relation and then give the relation the tags rather than tagging the lines themselves.
Additionally … going over the same boundary line TWICE or THREE times for two or three adjoining territories is not appropriate. The same line can be drawn once and just added to the various relations after the fact. it is the proper way to draw and assign boundaries. If your boundary is a river, then just use the RIVER line as the boundary instead of drawing another line over that line, just segment the portion of the river that is the boundary and add it to the appropriate relation(s)
I’m bad at naming things. My first town is simpel, going for First, second, and so forth, as well as streets named after trees. Beyond that…
Any thoughts on this?
Cleared entry.
After taking some advice, I decided to start small, and take geography and history more into account with my country. Presented here is the beginnings of the town of Ft. Smithson.
I’m not really good with names.
I did put a little detail in.. a Fort (to go with the town’s name,) a national monument boundary, and visitor center. I couldn’t help myself. I also named all my streets, and created two route numbers.
It’s not much work, but I am pleased.
