The last couple of weeks, people who spoke out about the territory requests taking some time, were silenced (posts removed, comments deleted). I have been waiting to receive a territory for a month now, and that makes me wonder what is going on, nothing more. Hereby, I hope that this diary entry will survive, and hope that we (the ones waiting for their territory) will get some reassurance in getting our piece of land soon.

Well, now my small tropical nation of Xenica has existed on the map for over a year… However, during this time, I feel as if there have been no cohesive ideas for how it will work out.
The plan of Xenica has changed shape a few times. Originally, it was a Singapore-esque city state, full of skyscrapers and modern architecture. I have had to tone down that vision, and now Xenica is more similar to a small Caribbean/Indian Ocean nation, with some urban influence, but much less than before.
Unfortunately, this ‘hopping’ has led to a place, which, at least in my view, doesn’t quite make sense. One user (I think it was Isleño?) referred to the place as looking more like a lot of towns or cities put in one, rather than a unified mass. If you look on the map, there are very awkwardly shaped streets and housing estates, the areas of vegetation and rainforest look like they were put there as an afterthought (I had to strip away motorways and whatnot since ‘nature always comes first’), and using Potlatch 2 probably doesn’t help much in this case.
So, looking at the CBD and into surrounding areas, what would you suggest I should do with Xenica? I certainly believe my territory has much potential.
So i was thinking on Marina island to make a city. Wanna help me!?
Hi, everyone. I was writing a user diary when everything got deleted. I tried recovering but ended up writing it again. It also got deleted… Anyway, the diary was about boundary problems. Can anyone help? sorry for the short description.

While still building up the rural areas of Antigo, I need this question so at least I cam design nice farms by myself. (Honestly there should be a guide on this; this is very important.)
Hey Guys,
Hope everybody is doing great!
I just had the idea of founding an insta accoubt for OGF. I mean that what a lot of you doing is real art! And I think it would be great to share this with others out of OGF.
Ofc someone has to dothe whole work to lead that Account. But Im also thinking that something like this would be worth the work and that we definitely will find somebody which would do that.
Just an Idea…
Marry Christmas and happy discussions
Lars
Hi, everyone, I was editing on the map when I saw that when I was tracing a line, it did not appear, and when I was done with my approximate vision of the line, it was all over the map. Is there something wrong with my computer? Or is there something wrong. with the map/program?

I have made a little region in this Commonia called San Marcos, inside of Tintaille region.
Well, Tintaille is not a great region, and there are hardly any cities, so I ask you all to help me creating cities around San Marcos.
I have created San Marcos with the idea of making a “little special region” in Commonia, where the taxes might be lower, there are different laws… You know, like a special region in countries like China (Hong Kong and Macao) and Sweden (Äland islands).
Thank you to everybody if you help me
Bye
(Sorry if I have made mistakes, I’m already learing English!)
7.2 earthquake hit where I live (IRL, not on OpenGeofiction), so I probably won’t be on for a while.
Commonia’s land area relation has all its members accidentally removed two months ago.
Could someone fix this relation for Commonia?
Thanks in advance,
–TCC
hello there
I made a template to count inhabitants of my country based on mapping, but it can be used by everybody:
-
add to each residential building the key “ogf:count” with the value “inh_?_” (many values between 1 and 250 inhabitants are available)
-
use the template {{Count population area = name of the country}} in the wiki - more can be read in the wiki
so I was looking at my cities till i noticed that people deleting and changing Them!!!! please stop! cities : Banlo, Actertoin(lost)
Something’s gone wrong when I try to save my edits. It gives me the text box to describe my change, but it doesn’t give me the option to actually save it. Nothing really seems to be wrong that I can notice, the edits that I haven’t uploaded are on my screen and my internet seems fine. Is there anyone who knows how to fix this?
Hi,
I have been playing around praticing different mapping skills on Läxland. Now it’s probably time to decide how Läxland should look like geographically.
I have always loved lakes, so I am thinking of a lake-land-landscape like one in Finland with Saimaa lake which could be fun to map, but perhaps doesn’t suit with my location geografically.
Or a lake to the south like Lake Lagoda in Russia formed by continetal glacier or was a part of a primitive sea.
What do you think i should go for to be realistic, should i stick to large areas of forest, rivers and bog?
Öllöjoumi.
The “Zalghira Space Center” in Gardensa is now fully mapped. I hope you think it’s good, otherwise I can correct anything. As I said in a previous post, the Republic of Gardensa is small, and so the Space Center (also because of its tropic-equatorial position, suitable for the orbits of the rockets) hosts missions from other countries. Then, who among you is interested and think that its country can benefit from it, please let me know, so I’ll take it into account when I update the Wiki. Thanks eleinads
I am now at a stage of mapping the rural areas outside Ellmouth. Is there anything I am missing or could improve my mapping? I am not particularly experienced in rural mapping.
Does anyone have a list of special amenities such as sewage disposals, landfills and power transformers I should consider putting in? For most of my mapping I’ve operated on a basis of ‘if I haven’t mapped it yet it must be somewhere else’. I’m running out of the ‘somewhere else’ space now.
Thanks!
Hi!
As I’m working on the history of Nordurland, I wondered about some assumptions I’ve made about the period of the totalitarian dictatorship which the country went through. I imagined that Nordurland used the most possible amount of its GDP for military purposes - so much that it was close to financial breakdown after 35 years, with a poor and undereducated population, strictly monitored by the security service.
Now I would like to ask for your opinion: how much would this be for a nation that big, quite rich in resources (oil, coal, uranium), probably around 20’000’000 to 50’000’000 people, with ridicculously large military forces. I assumed around 50% GDP. But could it be more? Or is this even too much?
I ve saw a project called f4 that mainly consists in 3D building rendering wich looks very cool specially for that shadows. Also stjurs diary about skeptchup
Just imagine how beatiful will be to see cities like Odrava, Gobras, Abralona, Beregorod, Antigo, Baradin, Vodeo, Khaiwoon, etc. Instead of being plain 2D, it will be 3D.
Could one day can have that 3D building here in opengeofiction?

I am noticing that on the rendered map, roads are rendered as really thick lines, which makes complicated intersections in cities look pretty ugly unless you reaaally zoom in on them. For example, I am working on this area
You cannot really even see all the roads as separate roads although the two motorway links (in between the tunnels) to the west of the square are actually drawn 10 meters apart. To the east of the square it is even more of a mess…
Since we create OGF maps for enjoyment and aesthetic beaty, my question is: How do you deal with this?
Have I drawn this way too small? Or should I just ignore it?
